Hi guys, I'm trying to get this working with nvidia surround on the 680 - Haydens fix won't work as it says my steam version is too new and isn't supported yet.
The helifax version will let me run the widescreen fixer, load the plug and recognise skyrim is running, however it only loads on a single screen (as in, the whole game disables my two side screens) and I can't even see any menus (had to guess from memory what the selections were to load/quit the game).
Any idea what's going on here?

aaaaa..... Are you sure the game is set to run on all 3 screens?? When you start it without the fix I mean...
Be sure that you run the game with 3x resolution or the fix cannot fix anything:D

I have the same problem, how exactly do you select the resolution for widscreen in skyrims settings? It only shows the standard one screen resolution never the widescreen.

I have this too sometimes. Try to play around with the timescale in widescreen-fixer. i.e. put it from 4 sec to 5 sec or 6 sec. at least just change it slightly. for me it worked than all the time.

in the launcher, you shouldnt see any resolution. just keep it blank as it is and dont pick any resolution there. just put yr resolution into the "skyrimpref.ini", make it un-writable afterwards and keep yr fingers from the launcher resolution options.

Hi, as pudel said above I'd set the resolution in the skyrimprefs.ini file to 5760x1080.
However, he was also correct in saying that the time scale adjustment worked. I changed it from 2 to 5 seconds and it now works!

When I saw that you said that, I checked and I too had an update. 20 minutes later I looked and Skyrim has just updated a 2nd time in the last 12 hours. No changelogs that I've seen...
Edit: First update was ~12MB (I think). Second one is 17.3MB.

Before I ask what I'm going to ask, I'd like to say that even though I doubt I'll be utilizing your fix, I really appreciate all the prompt attention and labor by Helifax and others to get this working.
Skyrim is in the 1.5 range now. Hayden's last solution is in the 1.3 range. I've tried Helifax's solution, and it doesn't work for me. I might could do a whole bunch to get it to work, but the very tiny amount of free time I have is going to have to be spent playing and not fixing. That's why so many prefer the "one click and it just works" option, Apple style, regardless of how much any and all efforts are appreciated.
It looks like as of now, my only sure fire option is what has been proven to work before, i.e- to roll back to an earlier version and use one of Hayden's earlier fixes. This is unfortunate because my computer will lose internet access because of the steam forced update, but I'm ok with that. However, the only way I've seen so far to roll back takes me all the way to version 1. The way to accomplish this is to replace certain files (TESV.exe, etc) with older version files, and unplug the internet so as to not allow steam to update.
I'd like to know if there's a way to roll back to the 1.3 range to use Hayden's latest fix. I heard you can use Win 7's previous version rollback feature, but I tried it and it didn't work for me. Replacing the files was the only thing with which I've been successful, but again, it was the release version and I haven't seen any place to get those files that would take me to the 1.3 range.
Anyone know where I can get those files? How to roll back to that version? When / if hayden is going to release an updated fix? I contributed quite a bit more than what I paid for the actual game to the coder appreciation fund, and I really appreciate any help.

Wow.. you would actually spend time "fixing" your game to an earlier version but not using a fix for the current version which probably you haven't configure properly (or you might have a 3xPotrait mode).
Something doesn't add up here;)) or maybe I am seeing it wrong;))
No offence intended;)) Have no idea how to revert back...:)

I would roll back with the cracked versions around.
In that case, where steam is forcing updates, even if you clearly said that you dont want any auto-update, thats a reasonable action. I mean, you have a legal copy, everybody is paid and you can play the game in that version which is working for you and NOT in that version steam wants you to play it.

No offense taken Helifax... I knew there was no way to say it without you taking it badly, but sometimes there's just no other way. Like I said, I really appreciate your efforts, and your skill and talent in this field is more than I could ever hope to achieve. I'd like to have the time to learn all the details of your fix and facts about why it may not be working, but unfortunately my situation just doesn't allow it.
To explain the thinking: It's basically the devil you know vs. the devil you don't know. Haydens fix is a "one step" fix. I spent a lot of time trying to get your early version fix to work and couldn't. I know your new fix is integrated into the widescreen fixer, has been fully automated in many ways, is also "one button" now, etc., but once again it is not working when I try it.
I know exactly how to make Haydens fix work. It's working now. I just need the files to play with the latest version. It would take about 30 seconds with those files, or a working rollback method. If there's no way to roll it back to the latest version, I'm ok enough with the old one.

When I tried the fix integrated into the widescreen fixer, character creation was very unfriendly. I had a view from the character's feet looking up at his face from ground level. It was really quite impossible to tell what kind of look the character would have from that perspective.
Anyone else encounter this?
