Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, FoV Fix and Rally for multi screen support
Ah that's why the only thing i'm getting is a slider to a maximum 200% without any other option like resolution etc?
So there is no way to make it work with the current version - 3.1 r361- on retail.
I guess i'll have to wait for an official patch or for an update on WSF.
Sucks to pay 50€ for an unplayable game i think i won't be so hasty next time.
Thanks.

I've merged helifax's latest source with mine.
There are a couple of things I realize after looking at his latest source and his suggestions above.
My code previously that read the resolution from the game, rather than the desktop, works perfectly. I just forgot to divide a couple of things by the display count.
The other is that he forgot to divide the field-of-view by the display count. So people who use a single monitor were going to get a really low field-of-view.
I'll upload this new version soon.

The retail version should of installed itself via Origin and forced you to play it via Origin, if it didn't then its not a proper retail version.

I finished the merge and uploaded the new build to the site.
It now includes an updated Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning plugin that's newer than the one helifax posted here. Please try this one out instead and let me know if it works better for you.
no go...

Single monitor user here - This is not working for me at all...
The latest fixer - the latest plugin.
In order - I
Start the fixer -
Select the plugin from list -
Click the cog/gear set the fov (90ish) monitor count (1) and the resolution (1680 x 1050)
Start the game.
set the ingame resolution - same as above.
And from here do 1 of 3:
1.- enable fix in main menu - load save game = game crash - no error message.
2. - load save game - enable fix = game crash - no error message.
3. - tab out - change *anything* in widescreenfixer = game crash - no error message.
My (current) game is a pirated steam copy - if that in anyway can change the outcome...
(damn demo was not working for me and wanted to try this one bad - played this for 5 hours and realized i owed someone some money - waiting for my legal steam version to download as i write this)
I guarantee you the crashes

I guarantee you the crashes are a result of it being a pirated copy. Unfortunately there's nothing I can really do about that.

I am at 75% on the legal one - I will let you know how that one fares in a bit...

I am not so sure that "Unfortunately" is a good word there... just one more reason to pay to play ;)

The reason the cracked versions do not work is because they remove certain parts of the game's code or add to it to work around DRM. When they do this it causes the game to allocate and use memory differently than it normally would, and the offsets we use for the Steam and Origin versions of the game do not work.
pure awesomeness

update: works like a charm on the legal steam version - however it does look like there has been a change width the ingame camera all ready.
the camera is zoomed way back even when the fix is not enabled - update perchance?? - maybe I will use the fix anyway - looks awesome thanks a mill.

No it doesn't...Can you provide proof to your claims? A screenshot maybe along with the resolution you are using?:) ..something smells funny around here...:))

I don't mind the remote desktop connection application, but what exactly is the issue with the quest map? I run Origin version single screen with the latest fixer r366 and the included plugin, and my quest map seems to be working fine.

It worked with the last version you updated.
Still need some tweak to avoid a slight fisheye effect on the sides of the screen for 1680x1050 resolutions any suggestion on the proper % settings?
It's way more better than before.
I don't have any menu problems etc all working normal retail box + origin fix.
Thanks everyone involved in this fix.

You sir - are quite right - nothing new to the game itself however the plugin does not disable correctly - screenshot is not proof of this but i did zoom in and back out to ensure the image was updated.
it seems that the fov start where the default is (50 maybe) and resets to roughly 70 when i disable the plugin
- loads better than normal game fov but not the 80 (or in the case of the screenshot 140 something - so the difference is clear) i set it at

There's really nothing that can be done about the fisheye effect at high field-of-views. 99.9% of games suffer from this.
The only way to get around this is to completely alter the position of the camera itself, not the field-of-view.

We use the same resolution and im using 75 as my fov and got no fisheye to speak of - for me thats the perfect setting.

Moving Interface elements?
Posted: 26 Feb 2012, 23:03
by dwstewart
Thanks to everyone who has worked on these fixes to the FOV. They really make the game much more playable.
I find, however, that I prefer to play on a single monitor at 1920x1080 rather than use eyefinity over 3 monitors as the widescreen puts the health and minimap elements out of my normal viewing area. So I am always having to look away from a fight to see how my health is doing, or look away from the road to see the minimap.
Now I would actually prefer to play using all three monitors but could only do so if the interface elements could be moved to the middle monitor. I know nothing about these fixes so this question may be noobish but is there no way to change the position of these elements?
Thanks.
