Yes,
I noticed DSFIX 2.2 has an issue with the Framerate unlock part. It is possible we are writing in the same memory locations and thus overlap making the game crashing....
I tested with DSFIX 1.9 and the framerate unlock is still working... (For reference)

Currently the fix is still addressing the version of the game that is using GFWL. Since the other one is a Beta and thus not a final release (that might change quite a bit between now and February) I've decided not to fix it.
In February when we have the final version of the Steamworks version, I will update the plugin to work with that version;)

I want to prevent any "fix breaks" as long as I can;))

Thank you very much for the update, helifax :-)

As far as I understood it, From Software are just using the "Beta" functionality of Steam to deploy the new version in parallel to the old GFWL version and it is not actually a Beta. Once the grace period is over, the GFWL version will be removed and just the Steam Workshop version remains.

The transfer of my saves from GFWL to Steam Workshop didn't work for me, so I'm afraid that if I roll a new character now, it will be lost as soon as the GFWL version is completely removed.

How jealously do you guard your source code helifax? If you were willing to let me fork it, I'd be more than glad to help with the beta version on a seperate dev branch (this is exactly the kind of situation forks were made for!).

If not, that's fine--I can perfectly understand you not wanting random strangers sniffing around your source, especially for a project this cool. The modularity is solid, you really did a bang up job.

Thank you helifax, for your support. I really appreciate all the work that you guys do.
Maybe I come back to play in February, when everything is right.

I'm glad to have found this thread. It'll be hard wait until January to get my aspect ratio fix, but I understand you not wanting to do the same work twice. Thanks for doing to update to begin with!

I am not guarding it :) but even I release it public it will not make a lot of sense unless you know how the game engine works...
This might also change when the beta goes live...

Cant wait for the final fix, im sure this will be the last update Dark Souls 1 is ever going to get, its going to be awesome that the triple screen functionality will be preserved forever now :)

Also, could you please look into Dark Souls 2, its been broken since Feb 3 with the last DS 2 update, thanks :)

Hey, not to come over all impatient, but seeing as the 16th of february has come and gone, I was wondering if you guys wouldn't mind releasing the new Dark Souls plugin so that we can get cracking with custom resolutions.

Thanks!

Interesting...
I didn't expect people to actually be really interested in this game so much (I even get e-mails regarding the fix).
Currently I have a very busy schedule so the only ETA I can give is "It will be done eventually".... Eventually means I don't know when...
Don't get me wrong or anything but you are asking me to go back and update a plugin that I wrote like 2 years ago which suffered an overhaul lately.
Doing this takes time and I don't get any benefit from it, while the time actually spent on my projects makes me money...
Take it as you want.
I am all PRO for open-source and community helping and so on but not on my time and on "my wallet" ;))

So, It will be done...eventually:)

As someone with a family this makes complete sense.

What amount would be appropriate remuneration for your services here? I might start a fund drive with other members here to get Dark Souls 1 and 2 fixed.

Thanks

Don't get me wrong or anything;)) It might have sounded a bit weird. Thing is I am committed to other projects currently (with a dead-line) and I can't afford not to meet those timers. I will give it a quick look over the weekend and if is an easy fix/update I will do it and release it;))
If not, it will need to wait a bit more unfortunately.
If you or anyone else wants to donate, me and all others welcome donations. My Paypal account is as always in my signature;)
I wanted to say this since I don't want to give the impression that I am asking for money to update a fix that I've already released in the past as free:)

Thank you so much Helifax, here is hoping the work is minimal since you have done the fix in the past :)

I managed to give it a quick look (around 15 minutes) in the weekend and was able to update 50% of the fix. I still need to update the HUD centering part (which is the most complicated stuff in the fix anyway). I will try to give it a look in the following days and hopefully will not take long to fix it;))

You are an angel, thank you so much, im pretty sure this is the last time you will ever have to touch this game, and it will be preserved forever for ultra widescreen!

Thanks!

OK,
I've managed to finish updating the fix.
You can grab it from my website here : http://3dsurroundgaming.com/WSF.html
As before it require DSFix, etc...
It requires the latest version of DS from Steam (with SteamWorks).

Hope it works for everyone;))

Cheers!!!!!!
