Hi Guys, I am looking at purchasing the triple head to go DP edition. I ran the compatabilty tool on a dell studio 17 which has the ATI mobility radeon HD 4650 1MB graphics card, and it came up ok. However it said it supported 3 x 1680x1050 @ 59Hz. The monitors I am looking at getting are Dell P2210 monitors that have an optimal res. of 1680x1050 @ 60Hz. Does this mean I cant get 3 x 1680x1050 resolution using the TH2GO DP edition with the Dell Studio 17 laptop and the Dell P2210 monitors. Will the Dell P2210 Monitors run at 1680x1050 @ 59Hz? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Riffraff,
As far as we know, all 60Hz monitors work at 59Hz no problem. Actually although the system may need a reported refresh rate of 59Hz, the panels may still be working at 60Hz... In any event, the 59Hz shouldn't be a problem - feel free to come back here and confirm, though ;)

Thanks Scavvenjahh. So are you saying the monitors should display 5040x1050 at both 59Hz and 60Hz?

Yes, it *shouldn't* make any difference.

Yep, Samsung 2233RZ (3D Ready) runs fine at 5040x1050 59Hz.

Is 1440 X 900 an acceptable res? I can save over 200.00 and have 3 bigger screens if so.

"Acceptable", what do you mean :?: (although I suspect you may be completely OT...)

Yes I am a supper noob. lol. I just seen a vid on this yesterday, so i signed u after being referred here to ask questions. I am asking is a 1440 x 900 comparable to a 1680 x 1050 res screen? Or if that resolution would even work. I could deal with shaving off an inch of screen or a bit lower res to save some money. If it cant be done, Im just going to have to cough up the extra cash.

3x 1440x900 sure is possible and doesn't suck, it's the second best res that TripleHead2Go DE can achieve. But do you even know that there are multiple ways to build a triple-screen setup ? You should really head to the main Multi-monitor forum to learn more and ask all you want. ;)

AFAIK it's not possible to connect 30" panels to TH2G DE, so kind of a moot point isn't it ? :?

Hi all, I am going to buy the Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital Edition and had a question about my current monitor and buying 2 new ones to make it 3.

I have the ASUS VW222U which on older posts have noticed people stating that it doesn't work.
I was wondering with Windows 7 and new firmware updates would this now work at 5040x1050 @ 57hz?

Also as I'm on a budget i wxas thinking of buying 2 X 22inch SAMSUNG B2240W for each side with the Asus in the middle. Anyone have thoughts on this particular model? All run at 1680x1050.

Not a techy person so any advice would be appreciated before I spend my money. Thanks in advance.

With the latest firmware and PowerDesk software, there is no need for monitors to work at 57 Hz anymore. So this here list is on the verge of obsolescence, and even "problem models" should work ok at the ~59 Hz required by TH2G. 8)

As for your other question, generally speaking it's certainly a good idea to go for cheaper side monitors - as long as all panels have the same sizes.

Thanks so much for taking the time to make a response, you have really put my mind at ease. I'll go out first thing to pick up all the hardware. Thanks again.
