Anyone here using AMD tried the Mass Effect 3 fix?

It works great for the most part, except for a bunch of menus. Great example is when trying to read emails in game, or trying to use the elevator on the ship. Menus are so stretched, that certain normally clickable options are out of the screens, so you can't click them (elevator again a good example). I understand many people here use nvidia, but can someone on AMD please give it a try and report back?

As per Hayden's advice, I have commented out the nvidia fixes on the lua, but no luck.

Yes, i have exactly the same problem (using 2 6950 in cfx). Plus the bottom half of conversation wheel is cut off. Otherwise, fix is working fine. HUD is centered and FOV adjustments work perfectly.
Anyway, which part of the script should be commented out? Maybe i'll try...

Post by Faith Lehane »

Is there an alternate download location? The site is down. Server seems to be bouncing up and down since I've managed to get ~95KB of the RAR with having wget retry automatically.

Edit: Literally the second I posted this the site came up after being down for 30+ minutes...

Yeah - does that on occasion, perfect reason NOT to buy a VPS from AmeriNOC, I'll probably do something about it some stage.

Doesn't happen that often, but enough to be annoying, they're network is a bit crap even tho their site is plastered with 99.9% reliability.

YES! I am not going insane! It was some parts of the lua that mention "enable nvidia".

Helifax - unfortunately the WSF fix for amd didn't help, maybe perkowsky here can try it.

Thank you for the feedback:) I am running on Nvidia hardware and couldn't test it on an AMD platform. Was curios if it actually works on AMD:) but apparently it doesn't:(

Yep, widescreen fixer was first thing i tried. Doesn't work, except for the FOV and "J" button ( it just stretches the picture, no real funcion on amd hardware). It worked nice with the Demo when iz was originaly released, though.

Show me some numbers re:AMD Hardware, how many people care - it's not a small task to switch back to AMD and/or try run the cards in tandom cause I've tried in the past and windows just turned itself inside out.

The whole app just won't start? Crashes?

Yep I had the same on AMD.

Anyone else here play/care about a mass effect 3 amd solution? So far it's just Perkowsky and myself, and I can quite understand it's a pain to go through hoops to fix something just for 2 people. Do we have more people? Now's the time to post if so!

If I had your level of programming skill/understanding (and believe me, I don't), I'd run two graphics cards (one amd, one nvidia) and then turn one or the other off in the bios. I would then dual boot my system (both windows 7) but one with nvidia drivers loaded, and one with amd drivers. That way, swapping would be a matter of rebooting. I'm not sure if such an idea would work out for you though.

Hi Hayden

I wanted to ask if maybe you have a fix for, or could look at an older game?...Unreal 3.

I've been playing this game for years, but in triplehead the weapon fov looks at about 40 or 50.

Any help would be great.

Regards,

Sean

Deztrek - that is because the game is attempting to set the refresh rate at 75hz which is clearly not supported by the monitor you have connected, this is not something Flawless Widescreen will help you with.

Thanks for Flawless Widescreen...

I'm using it with Tribes Ascend, and it does make a difference regarding the FOV.. not sure what it does -exactly- but it does change it (now that i realise there's a built-in FOV option you can change)

I hate to 'ask for more' because it makes my thanks feel less genuine but -- If, in the future, when you get a chance, could fix the HUD (if its remotely possible for you to do it, and in your interest ofc) that would be wicked.

But i imagine it might actually be a dev issue since.. Well, how can you make the game work in th2go but not the hud /facepalm

I got Binary Domain yesterday

Post by r9800pro »

I got Binary Domain yesterday from Amazon sale and using Flawless Widescreen did not fix it at all. It still runs on the middle screen only. My version is 1.0.0.1 Steam and there is no 1.0.0.2 version as shown in FW !

Post by HaYDeN »

Seems they released a update on the 9th of June, yes technically there is no 1.0.0.2 but for the purposes of "versioning" I incremented it and would consequently consider the current version 1.0.0.3

Problem is, when I select 1.0.0.1 from FW the fix does not work and when I select 1.0.0.2 the game crashes at startup
