[quote]You are a wonderful person Helifax! It works! But just out of curiosity, with this fix now in place, does the resolution still have to be no more than 4K wide?

NO That is why the "J" toggle is there. You can Play on Any resolution: only the quest menu will not display anything. So when you are in QUest Menu you press J 1 time and it will make the engine
draw the elements on the left and description (some elements or text might be missing) Press J again for all the other Menus!

OMG seriously FREAKING AMAZING helifx, your fix is 100% perfect, massive respect m/

Again thank you so much for this fix and update, works perfectly :) you da man. You made my weekend.

Post by haloboyvash »

I downloaded two versions of Widescreen fixer and the amalur plugin.dll

One being the most up to date and the other an older 312 version.

If I try to use the most current version this is the error I get.

I can use the 312 version but when I hit the hotkey to apply the fix my game crashes and gives me this error.

Anyone suggest any help here?

Thanks!

Are you sure you configured the plug-in first? If going for auto-detect just hit Save config button. Also be sure you have all administrative privileges on your PC (no UAC involvement ;)) )

single monitor fov fix

Post by gbesq1 »

[quote]Today I will release a new version of the plugin (either me or dopefish) :D
It will bring back the ability to set your resolution and also it will provide a toggle key to enable the view in Quest Page. It will not be perfect..some description text will be missing in some cases..but at least you can select a quest to follow on the main map:).

Stay tuned:))

Please Try This plugin, with the latest version of WSF. Read the Description of the plugin to find out how to use the Quest Menu. At the moment this toggle works only for Steam Version. If anyone with Origin version of the game wants me to make and its not afraid of Remote Desktop Connections :)) please let me know;))

Best Regards,
Helifax

I downloaded the new dll and it works perfectly. I leave the automatic resolution detect button checked (I have 1920x1080) and I can set fov with the slider as I like. No distortion at all. Great job helifax and dopefish!

Guess you downloaded the plugin.dll from the post on the mainpage.
This one (Kingdoms of Armalure Reckoning_1.rar) seems to be older than the ..._0.rar Version which you can find somewhere in this Thread. (no autodetect screen res & no FOV Slider)
At least i had the same trouble running the ..._1.rar, which gave the same API Error messages and crashes.
The only problem is, that the other .dll doesn't work either. When playing the unpatched Game i get these strange graphicbugs as posted.
Since i updated to 1.002 the game simply crashes when i try to activate the Fov-fix.

If you are having a problem, try creating a new folder, extracting the latest version of Widescreen Fixer, then extracting and overwriting the plugin.

I could not get it to work without doing that. I was having a different problem, but since it's so easy to do It might be worth trying.

Thats what i did:
I downloaded the .dll from this Thread (which seems to be the newest, as i said).
After that i went to the Widescreenfixer HP and downloaded the 3.1 r361 tool.
Unzipped the .dll and put it into the /plugin/ folder.
Started the Fixer and clicked on the gear icon.
Moved the FOV Slider to 90, which should be fine i guess.
Switched Option to Origin.
Screen Res was already on 1920x1200.
clicked on save and closed this window
Started the game and loaded my savegame.
pressed the hotkey.
-> ..._1.rar simply crashes the game. (and doesn't work with the newest WSF) the .dll has a typo btw its called Armalure
-> ..._0.rar gives those strange graphics

Guess ill try to get a Steamversion from somewhere, maybe this will work.
Quite Annoying that theres never a FOV Slider in those Consoleports.

I copied and pasted the most

Post by haloboyvash »

I copied and pasted the most recent plugin that was available here into both folders of Widescreen, the newest version and the older 312. While the older 312 actually runs and lets me get ingame to set my resolution to 1440x900, when I use the hotkey to set the fov it crashes the game. On the newest version of Widescreen it just won't load at all, something to do with the api 2.1 version.

If it has anything to with it I'm on the Theta version of the game, I guess you would say it's cracked. I always buy most of my games on xbox 360, then I get a cracked version on my PC to play around with different things.

Okay something weird

Post by haloboyvash »

Okay something weird happened. Now the newest version of Widescreen starting working, didn't give me the api 2.1 pop up anymore.

So I went into it and adjusted the fov to 90, went in game and it tried the hotkey but it still crashed.

I guess I will try to download the new dll that posted and pop that in and see what happens.

Making progress none the less... somehow anyways lol

Need a help similar to a guy

Post by tacodisco »

Need a help similar to a guy above me.

I got a single monitor 1920x1080 and tried newest version and old 312 version, different plugins etc etc.
I've got Origins version of the game.
What i do is open the Fix, put fov 80, setup a hotkey, choose an Origin version of the game, go in game and while in Menu activate Fix.
In game i get a huge Vortex effect just frozen on a screen, when i alttab and go back, screen becomes just black :(

Any solution to this?

I also tried making width 3x aka im running 1920x1080 and i put reso to 5760x1080, tried fov 170, 90,80, still getting that vortex effect and black screen, damn:(
Also tried activating Fix only when in-game as suggested on some Steam forums, still puts me in vortex thingy, T__________________T

Try to put you actual resolution..not 5760 ...so that means 1920. Also play with the fov slider to get the hang of it... You need to disable and re-enable the fix between any changes made in WSF to be taken into effect.

That didn't work )))
Anyway made it work, updated to 1.0.0.2 and downloaded Steam version, Origin wasn't working at all for me, just black screen. Tried using newest version of WS Fix but you can't choose reso there and automatically on 90fov it makes it kinda too far like that other guy who posted screen above.
Downloaded older version where i could choose reso, put it to 1920x3 aka 5760x1080 and 90fov, works like magic!

Thanks alot Helifax for your work, hope my little tests here let you make few fixes for SingleMonitor users xD, you should put back option to choose reso in WS Fix back))
I can finally play this game w/o frustrated how close and ugly this view is
