They have different aspect ratios? I don't know much about the product so I'm not sure what it's capable of.

If you can provide a list of aspect ratios, I can add in support.

That's definitely Vert-, I play Majesty 2 myself though on 1280x1024 and that screenshots looks really zoomed in.

Well it all depends on resolution:

We all know about 3x16:9 and 3x16:10. When you add another stack it become way different for vertical FOV and if someone were to use 4 projectors or 5 monitors in a line.

So

16:10 Monitors

4320 x 1800 = 12:5 Aspect Ratio - 3x2 1440x900 Monitors
5760 x 2400 = 12:5 Aspect Ratio - 3x2 1920x1200 Monitors
5040 x 2100 = 12:5 Aspect Ratio - 3x2 1680x1050 Monitors
7680 x 1200 = 16:5 Aspect Ratio - 4x1 1920x1200 Monitors
9600 x 1200 = 8:1 Aspect Ratio - 5x1 1920x1200 Monitors *
11520 x 1200 = 48:5 Aspect Ratio - 6x1 1920x1200 Monitors*
3600 x 1920 = 15:8 Aspect Ratio - 3x1 1920x1200 Portrait Monitors
4800 x 1920 = 5:2 Aspect Ratio - 4x1 1920x1200 Portrait Monitors
6000 x 1920 = 25:8 Aspect Ratio - 5x1 1920x1200 Portrait Monitors
7200 x 1920 = 15:4 Aspect Ratio - 6x1 1920x1200 Portrait Monitors

16:9 Monitors

5760 x 2160 = 24:9 Aspect Ratio 3x2 1920x1080 Monitors
7680 x 1080 = 64:9 Aspect Ratio 4x1 1920x1080 Monitors
9600 x 1080 = 80:9 Aspect Ratio 5x1 1920x1080 Monitors*
11520 x 1080 = 32:3 Aspect Ratio 6x1 1920x1080 Monitors*
3240 x 1920 = 27:16 Aspect Ration 3x1 1920x1080 Portrait Monitors
4320 x 1920 = 9:4 Aspect Ration 4x1 1920x1080 Portrait Monitors
5400 x 1920 = 45:16 Aspect Ration 5x1 1920x1080 Portrait Monitors
6480 x 1920 = 27:8 Aspect Ration 6x1 1920x1080 Portrait Monitors

4:3 Monitors

3072 x 1536 = 2:1 Aspect Ration 3x2 1024x768 Monitors
4096 x 768 = 16:3 Aspect Ration 4x1 1024x768 Monitors
5120 x 768 = 20:3 Aspect Ration 5x1 1024x768 Monitors
6144 x 768 = 8:1 Aspect Ration 6x1 1024x768 Monitors

5:4 Monitors

3840x2048 = 15:8 Aspect Ratio - 3x2 1280x1024 Monitors
7680x1024 = 10:1 Aspect Ration - 6x1 1280x1024 Monitors
6400x1024 = 25:3 Aspect Ration - 5x1 1280x1024 Monitors
5120x1024 = 20:3 Aspect Ration - 4x1 1280x1024 Monitors

EDIT: I will add more as I think of them, I might be willing to calculate the multi-card setups, but until then here ya go.

*I'm aware that these resolutions wont work well with games, i was using there numbers for aspect ration calculation.

Looks like it supports almost everything under the sun, huh? Hopefully it won't be too hard just to add support for people to pick their own aspect ratios (perhaps auto calculate it by typing in the resolution?).

my thoughts exactly, or else there's a lot of additions dopefish is going to need to make.

Yeah. :shock:

I'll... have to... do something.

I want to make it simple for users to just select an aspect-ratio, but advanced options would be nice with that many choices.

I really don't think the update slider is needed anymore since it's really only used by Battlefield 2/2142. I could just hardcode the optimal update rate for games and use that slider for aspect-ratio selection instead. It would be cleaner than a huge combo box.

When I have a moment I'll do just that and post some screens for a yay or nay. ;)

Awesome, this might also be better for you because of eyefinity there are some wacky aspect ratios that can be made as there can be up to 4 cards. that's 24 monitors.

Hi dopefish, does your tool support 1600x900 widescreen resolution?

In its official site, it does support 16:9 but 1600x900 resolution is not included.

Below is from official site (http://imk.cx/pc/widescreenfixer/):

Here is a list of common resolutions and their aspect ratios.

* 640x480 = 4:3
* 720x480 = 15:10
* 720x576 = 5:4
* 800x600 = 4:3
* 848x480 = 16:9
* 960x600 = 16:10
* 1024x600 = 17:10
* 1024x768 = 4:3
* 1152x864 = 4:3
* 1280x720 = 16:9
* 1280x768 = 15:9
* 1280x800 = 16:10
* 1280x960 = 4:3
* 1280x1024 = 5:4
* 1360x768 = 16:9
* 1440x900 = 16:10
* 1680x1050 = 16:10
* 1920x1080 = 16:9
* 1920x1200 = 16:10

So, does your tool support 1600x900 widescreen resolution?

Thanks.

You don't actually set the resolution with the tool. You simply pick the aspect-ratio. So if you use 1600x900, then just choose the 16:9 option.

It's up to you to set the resolution of the game.

Hey dopefish, can you take a look at Section 8? It's UE3 based so it can have it's FOV changed. It can be done in console, but every time I zoom in or go into 3rd person mode the FOV changes back. It's annoying having to constantly enter the console and change the fov and makes the game a chore to play. Can you see if you can constantly update the FOV on Section 8?

Dopefish would you be able to add the ultra widescreen aspect ratios for BF2? The older version of widescreen fixer had these for BF 1.41 but the version supporting BF2 1.5 no longer list these.

Would love to run 3 x 16:10 ultra wide for my eyefinity setup :P

Thanks

Dope, this may have been asked and answered elsewhere, and if so I apologize buddy, but I was wondering if your Fixer is OS agnostic.

Reason I ask is because it looks like there will never be another Powerdesk put out by Matrox that is Vista compatible, other than the almighty "beta" of some, I don't know, 12 months ago, which will only work with NVidia driver 182.50.

Well, I have the PC demo of L4D2 and it actually floats a pop-up when I try to start the game that tells me that my graphx drivers are too old. Won't work. And the new one by Futuremark, "Shattered Horizons" is only DX10 and up compatible, etc ad nauseum.

So, since Matrox recently offered up it's intial WHQL approved W7 DTH2Go drivers, I think I am going to have to bite the bullet and drop Vista and move on to 7.

I figure that since your Fixer works with Vista, it'll work with 7 (64 bit both), but I want to ask to make sure. BTW, I looked at both your sites, and couldn't find reference to W7 anywhere :?: .

Thanks for any light you can shine on this for me.... :)

in short, it works fine with windows 7. I've been using it since win 7 came out.

Section 8 is UE3-based and UE3 is my arch enemy. :( If I buy the game, I can try to work on a fix for it, but there's no guarantee, sorry.

Every time I try to add support surround, the engine breaks. It's nothing I can fix as it's a limitation of the engine itself. Even the official patch had problems with objects disappearing and so on.

It should work in any Windows XP or newer.

There is a problem with the titlebar causing all the items to be shifted off the screen, though. This only happens if you use a larger titlebar font than what's default in Windows. Ibrin pointed this out to me, and I know how to fix it, I just haven't yet. I will soon. :)
