Hey Guys,

I'm still not able to get either of Helifax's solution's to work. Here's all the different things I've tried:

CT Table:
-Every possible combination of loading the game and the CT Table (Game then Table, Table then Game, Load Program First then load script then Game, etc.) No dice :(

Widescreen Fixer
-Installed the test verison with the plugin. Start game and press * All of the menus dissappear including the mouse cursor. Press * brings it all back. In the game Pressing * makes all the menu's and hud's dissappear as well.
Widescreen fixer says the fix is enabled, recognizes the game, sets the proper values but again no dice :(

I've verified the integrity of the game files too.

I don't know what I'm missing or why its not working because I use to be able to use Helifax's older tables no problem. My resolution is 5760x1080 for anyone who's curious.

I'll go back to version 1.3 for the time being.

Thanks to coolboy for the tutorial and most importantly thank you Helifax for helping the widescreen gaming community.

Weird... I got the same bug, I returned my graphics settings to default and it worked after that.

For some reason, this has happened to me also after playing the game using Helifax's fix. It can be quite puzzling.

For some reason, something doesn't change skrimpref.ini back. For example, my horizontal rez is set to 4064 in the ini. However, sometimes the game will change and leave it at (1354--the rez of a single monitor). When trying to run the game again, it won't load at all.

Simply double-checking skyrimpref.ini to make sure it still has my screen rez correct, (4064x1020) always fixes it for me.

I know, this one can be really frustrating/scary until you figure out what's going on. just don't do anything drastic. :)

HTH

Until Hayden's fix gets updated (hopefully soon), I've reverted to v1.3.10 EXE. Nice work Helifax :) , but unfortunately not yet as seamless, and it only took an hour of looking to source an old TEV.exe on the internets...that really is the only thing that seems to *need* reverting, other main files help with bugs.

For those who want to revert but don't have the old exe, look for "update 4" hosted anywhere should only be 200MB or so, and will have the 20MB exe inside.

Sorry to hear that

Sorry to hear that Kiax.

I've had the exact same problem with the widescreen fixer. I'm stumped on that one.

However, I have been able to get the CT one going, with some occasional crashes, always in the smithing or enchanting screens. Frustrating, but livable. :) Hey, I wouldn't be playing at all without these fixes.

I don't know. Maybe it's an ATI/Nvidia thing. I've got an ATI 5870 here.

Best of luck to you.

You have to roll back skse too, if you updated that for SkyUI 2.1 - it will not work with the 1.3.10 exe

Slightly off topic but I'm running a single 5870 card now for Skyrim, I'm hoping to pop out some more performance in Eyefinity 5760x1080... anyone got a suggestion for a beast card? Tax return coming up.

Can't wait for HaYDeN's fix and STEP 2.0 so I can update to the latest and greatest.

7970 is really the only single card option here... or a 7950. Grab the Asus DirectCU II with 4x DP ports and you won't get any tearing :)

Funny how the Prefs.ini file gets modified. I don't write anything to it..but it must be the game. I suggest that once you have a working settings file just hit Properties -> Read Only. This way it will not be overwritten :) and you are safe.

As for those people for whom is not working, I am still looking into seeing why that happens...:)

Hi! Give me more info:
- Skyrim complete version 1.4.x.x Is it from Steam?
- Are you using nVidia Surround or Eyefinity? -if the last dont forget to configure your plug-in 1st:)
- How many monitors are you using? x3, x5, x7, x1001 ? :)
- What resolution are you using: Normal/Corrected ?

The only way the menus would disappear is if the offset is not calculated correct. But I need more info;))

Hey Halifax,

Thanks for your CE fix, it seems to do the trick on the latest version for me. I tried the .dll but I didnt really get which plugin folder u ment :)
The only problem with the CheatEngine fix is that my HUD isnt centered which in turn means that my crosshair isn't centered either :D
Another little annoyance is that part of my menus are behind my bezels because of that.

Is it something I did wrong or is this normal? I edited the downloaded CT file to match my res (5760x1200) and I'm using ATI Eyefinity across 3 screens

Thanks man!

So basically what you need to replace in the Script 5230 with 5760 and 1743 with 1920. Also if the menu is a little to the left you can add more pixels to 1920. For ex:1925 that will move it with 5 more pixels to the right:)

I strongly recommend using the plugin for widescreenfixer and configure your plugin correctly from there! (for eyefinity disable the checkbox and write in your resolutions:))

Well apparantly I didn't change all the values :)
I wanted to use the plugin but I don't really know which plugin folder you mean, skyrims? The widescreenfixer install dir? Because neither of those have a folder called plugins.
And when I made a plugins folder myself in the widescreenfixer dir I didn't see Skyrim show up in the drop down menu. I never used that program before so maybe I forgot something;

Hi go to http://www.widescreenfixer.org/test.php and download the WSF. Unpack it. In its folder you will see a folder "Plugins" where the you must put the dll file from my post.
Launch WSF and select Skyrim from the list.
Press the little cog on the right to configure it:
For eyefinity disable automatic detection and put your resolutions:
Normal is 5040x1050 (without bezels)
Corrected is 5230x1050 (with bezels)
Click on save and close the config window

Start the game and during the Bathesda intro movie enable the plugin (default is numpad *)
Play the game;))

Before viewing the map and reading books you will need to disable the plugin to work properly. After just enable it again to have everything corrected.
Let me know if it works;))

Ps: Just to be safe, as some people mentioned SkyrimPrefs.ini can get corrupted, put the file as read-only, Although my plugin doesnt write to files and I suspect a mod or something else modifing the file:)
Best regards,
Helifax
