This list rocks and it was really helpful to me, I have bought 24 VX2240w monitors that all work great connected to Triplehead2Gos.

Just a query though, if the TH2G now supports 59Hz, which is one of the most supported resolutions, is there a need to buy 57Hz capable monitors anymore?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but 5040@59Hz is a custom res that supposedly works - not the actual res applied by PD's Setup Wizard, which is still 5040@57Hz afaik. It's a workaround for custom timings, which can be useful for people having difficulty applying 5040x1050 on newer drivers, but it has little to do with actual monitor capabilities really. :?:

My monitors work fine at 59Hz. They were not on the list, in fact, i haven't seen a single case where someone hasn't been able to run any set of monitors at 59Hz.

Monitor Model Number: Dell S2309W

No it's not custom, I just installed a fresh TH2G into a fresh PC running Windows XP and using the latest Matrox PowerDesk (2.06) and the latest Nvidia drivers as of yesterday and 5040x1050x60Hz(59) was in the list of standard resolutions in the PowerDesk Setup Wizard.

It was not present in PowerDesk 2.05.

Well, I won't say you're wrong until it works for you, because if there's one thing I have learned from this forum, it's that many different people have many different experiences with the same software lol!

Hi Guys

Another newbie here. I have been reading and it seems as if I'm OK however, I wanted to check with the PRO's here and make sure.

I have 2 (23") LG W2361's LCD Monitors and another one under the Christmas tree with a THTG Digital.

Here are my monitor supported refresh rates

Hertz
25
29
30
59
60

The Matrox System Compatibility Tool tells me that my system is only good for 3 x 1280 x 1024 or 3 x 1360 x 768

From what I read, it seems the new THTG drivers support the maximum resolution of 5040 x 1050 @ 59 Hertz

Will I be able to run at 5040 x 1050 resolution?

Is this correct?

Hi Stang,

Advertised refresh rates are of no help here, 1680x1050@57Hz is certainly not a factory-tested mode, so you'll have to try and see for yourself. Given LG's ratio of 'known working' vs. 'problem' models (5/0), chances are this won't be an issue, hopefully you'll confirm that soon ;)
Samewise, Matrox System Compatibility Tool is no Word of God. Which graphics card and OS will you be using ?

If you update your TH2G firmware and download the PowerDesk 2.06, I don't see why you shouldn't be able to use 5040x1050 regardless of your monitor, as it can run at 59Hz. This has been the case for me so far.

However, as we have seen, not everyone can seem to run it for some unknown reason (even if they had monitors that can support 57Hz), and there exists the reason for people's frustrations.

Thanks for the help

I can't find a download for this file

PowerDesk 2.06

Is it a Matrox file or something else?

Thanks
