You know what's weird? When I use the regular .exe file I see the option for 21:9 aspect ratio. And when I use your fix, that option is gone (only 16:9 &16:10 remain). So it makes my picture look blurry and it doesn't remove the black bars for me. Any ideas?

are you tried delete ACOdyssey.ini in here Documents\Assassin's Creed Odyssey\ or maybe exe getting update but i checked on steamdb still v1.02 . would you upload original.exe ?

Works on my machine, jalex897 I don't see 21:9 aspect ratio in the options menu but the 3440x1440 is correct and as you can see in the screenshot the black bars are gone in conversations.

Also I am currently uploading the original current Steam .exe for susahamat but my upload is slow, will edit post.

Looks good! So you don't notice a stretched blurry image in game? And is the opening cutscene different from in game ones? Should I not expect the opening cutscene to not have black bars?

Nope! If it were 2160x1080p I certainly would get over 60fps haha.

I am 99% sure it is pre-rendered so it will be 16:9 no matter what.

I'm dumb. you're right. I didn't think pre rendered cutscenes vs in game. I played a little bit more and it looks like the black bars are gone. Thanks for clearing that up @f4Lk and thank you @susahamat for the fix!

i play in 3840 x 1600, i have extracted all, but in my "ac odyssey foulder" is no exe which i can replace.
iam a little bit desperately.
i was also showing in my uplaylauncher folder, or in my older origins folder, to compare him with the actually odyssey folder, but there are no exe. datas.
whats wrong with me....?
with my witcher 3 game, but it is a steam game, i had no problems to configuer the exe for 21:9 ratio.

default game installation Uplay in here C:/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher/games/. try verify file first. click the game > Properties > verify files

This is the Samsung 49" CHG90. Got it since close to a year and first game I played on it was Assassin's Creed Origins. It does HDR too and it is just freaking amazing. Wouldn't go back to a triple monitor setup now

thank you so much, it works and iam verry happy, it will be a long night now.

I can't seem to get this to work for the Uplay version of the game. The cutscenes still have black bars but now have stretched out subtitles and in game dialogue choices. Anyone else coming across the same thing?

are you tried change aspect ratio to 16:9 in display setting ?
