AMD 7970 E6 6GB

I'm not sure if you can hit a Vram Limit on a HD7970 ^^
GDDR5 like on HD6970, clocking with 1375mhz! BUT 384bit interface! 3GB capacity! PCI-E 3.0!
And now comes the *omfg wtf* factor! You can Overclock the card's VRAM to 1790mhz, which results in a bandwidth increase of 30%!
Oh... and maybe you can go Higher than 1790mhz, but right now driver wont allow it.

We gonna send it to outa space!
I'm also excited about this.
I'm also excited about this. I wish I could find a confirmed release date on the 6G Flex soon. :( My 5870 is feeling a bit rustic.

Since they may make a 1.5gb
Since they may make a 1.5gb 7970 why not make a 7990 with 9gb memory? Just do 4.5gb per core!
It would be great to see 12gb on a 7990 but I do not see that happening. BUT I can see 4.5gb/core!
Is there a technical reason why they couldn't or wouldn't do 4.5 gb per core?

All 7970 vanilla cards are 3GB by default. The era of entheusiast level cards with 1.5GB or less VRAM is coming to a close in 2012. It's my belief that NVIDIA will also follow suit with Kepler.

Has anyone heard anything
Has anyone heard anything about this card lately? This is going to be my next upgrade so I really want it to exist for purchasing at around $550 - $600.
I don't think there's been an official Eyefinity 6 edition of a card since the 5000 series.

Taking bets? I'll take some of that action!
Sapphire published this press release a couple days ago:
In CeBIT, SAPPHIRE will preview a new super-overclocked HD 7970 model with 6GB of memory, aimed at the real hardcore enthusiast - and look out for the first cards in the brand new HD 7800 series!
No word on 6 DP ports (which I'm waiting for to enable HD3D+Eyefinity), but that is definitely a 6GB card, and CeBIT is this week.
I'll send over my paypal details for the bet :)

Previewing a single card at a convention is not a release to market. I need more definitive information before I believe it's the E6. I hope it is though. Even if it's not, wiht a combination of the Zotac dual-hdmi adapters would do the job for me for as many ports as I need in the future with a regular card anyways. ;)
Sapphire should hook me up with two of those cards and have me do a projection setup showing off something crazy like 6x2L 360 degree projection with help of the Zotac dual-HDMI adapters. :santa:

6GB is a lot, do all these for the memory chips on a pcb? Will we see a 7970 with pcb sapphire larger than the default
VRAM chips on this card are on both sides of the PCB.

This waiting game sucks, I guess I'll just continue to save up until something releases worth getting.
I really do prefer 6 mini display ports. This has also been shown but it only have 4 mini dp.
