Re: Amnesia - Dark Descent

Beat it only took me 2 days. Really enjoyed it at first but by near end game I got used to the scare tactics used so I was not really afraid of anything anymore.

I only saw like 2 monster types in the whole game so it was lacking a bit in that department (just hide from one for about 20 seconds, and the other stay out of the water)

I had wayyy too many tinderboxes and a ton of oil left @ end game so looks like I was making it harder than it had to be so I think a difficulty setting would have been nice since it was way too easy for me.

I really enjoyed the lore and story telling the plot was good, but then it all fell flat on its face with the shortest, lamest, most dissapointed endings at the end of the game. Its like they spent so much time with the game an the flashbacks that they ran out of time and had only 30 minutes until deadline to make the 3 endings.

Overall I was happy with the game but it definitely has its shortcomings.

Has anyone noticed the mouse sensitivity scaling issues in this with eyefinity?

I recently picked it up again after playing 80% of the game, and i can't remember having it before, the Horizontal mouse speed seems to scale up with the resolution.

I changed the EXE to "Penumbra.exe" and my frame rate in Surround is still dreadful. :(
Is there something else I need to do?
Thanks,
Dan

@Unknownsock: is your desktop res different from your in-game res ?

@dt1000: try lowering some of the advanced settings, like SSAO.

Post by Ergonpandilus »

This beauty has been updated to v1.2 just recently and a fix to Surround gaming. :savews

...
Mouse
-Mouse movement should scale better if you have really wide setups (as in multiple monitors).
Justine
-Added the expansion "Justine". Launch it from the Launcher, using the Justine button....

More info: http://support.frictionalgames.com/entry/98/

PS. The update is big (160MB) because it contains an expansion called "Justine" as well.
