Hey, I don't understand the sports or machismo thing either. It's not so much nostalgia, as... finding the quality of more modern stuff to be lower.

Duke: "Hail to the king baby!"
Chick: "What about the game Duke? Was it any good?"
Duke: "Yeah, but after 12 *BEEP* years it should be..."

I couldn't have said it any better, and it made me laugh to hear Duke even say that it damned well better be good. I've been waiting practically my entire gaming life for this game to come out... I had better not be disappointed, and with show of T'n'A in the video, I think I will enjoy at least SOMETHING about it. Gameplay looks solid, I like the driving parts, it shows that it's touching on a couple of genres that I like. Let's hope they bring back the BFG.
Current build: Intel i5-4670k | 32GB DDR3 | RAID0 2x250GB 850EVOs | nVidia GTX980Ti (MSI G1 Gaming Edition) | SoundBlaster Zx | Dell 2405FPW (Landscape, primary) & HP w2338h (Portrait)

I hate it.

But I'm only basing my opinion on the Demo. Still, it's a no-buy for me.

Looks like crap, performs like crap, plays like crap.... It's the crap tri-fecta. Good thing we waited so long, lol. :hide

Looks OK to me. Runs OK for me. They're not what I'm worried about.

It's just the fact that it was obviously developed from the ground up with consoles in mind that I struggle with. It lacks the soul of the old Duke 3D.

After trying it for a couple hours, I installed the old Duke 3D disc and played it for a night. Still fun.

I know what you mean. When I heard DNF was coming out in June I reinstalled DN3D and had a go yet again. Got hooked immediately and had to play through all the episodes.

Read a couple of reviews, and skimmed a couple more. I had it pre-ordered late in the game but I think I'm just gonna get my money back from GameStop. Kinda disappointing. But oh well. I guess I can snag this when it goes on sale on Steam for about US$10.

I watched some Brit play the first few hours on YouTube. Based on his live first impressions I'm not gonna even test the game. Sounds like a terrible joke on the franchise to be honest.
