[quote]Messed with it for a few minutes before I had to run. Resolution scaled nicely to 3840x1024, but Hud elements were on the side monitors.

that will happen on most games as they just aren't built for 4:3 monitors anymore. It assumes 16:9

This confuses me a bit. The HUD elements (weapon ammo status and minimap) are on the extreme lower right and extremem upper left of the two outside monitors. How would a 16:9 ratio over a 4:3 be any different?

Sorted it, lauch game 3840x1024 on windowed mode, then use Sizer or similar software to resize the window to 5040x1050, all HUD moves to the right place then. :cheers

Anyone else running surround in the demo not see the prompts for the QTE events, as when you try to hijack an occupied helo?

This could be a huge issue if it is not just me and we cannot find a fix.

I really thought I'd buy this one wayyy before AC2, but I'm not overjoyed about being forced to use windowed mode for 5040, even less if some of the HUD prompts are missing :?
Anyway, dlding the demo...

Quick findings that may or may not be old news already:
-how to remove the 30-minute limit (requires CheatEngine)
1) Start Just Cause 2, trigger the timer by jumping off the platform. Open the PDA by pressing F1 (or ‘Back’ if you’re using an Xbox 360 controller) and check what the timer says. Memorize it, or write it down.

2) Alt-tab out and start CheatEngine. In CheatEngine, browse the processes and select JustCause2.exe. Choose ‘Unknown initial value’ from the ‘Scan type’ drop-down list, ‘4 Bytes’, and hit the ‘First Scan’ button.

3) Go in-game again, un-pause and let some time go by.

4) Again, open the PDA and check how many seconds have gone by. Alt-tab back to CheatEngine and search for a new value, this time a ‘Value increased by…’ (or, as listed by the program, ‘Increased value by…’), and enter the appropriate value (the time in seconds that passed) in the ‘Value:’ box. Hit ‘Next Scan’.

5) Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you find the correct value, usually an address starting with ‘1A5′.

6) When found, double-click it to add it to the box below. Freeze it and play for as long as you want.

Nice that its wider but the FOV is just way off, looks so cropped. :doh

Running a TH2Go @ 3840x1024 and I saw the prompts to yank the guy out of the helo.

ok, interesting. Are you using keyboard mouse or a 360 controller? And are the prompts appearing center screen as in the console versions?

Edit: I am running 3840x800 and they are still missing. They must be somewhere in those 224 pixels!

Edit 2: Confirmed, tried switching res to 1024 x 768 and prompts were there. So it does not seem to like 3x 16*10 resolutions right now? Anyone successfully get 5040 x 1050 and try this?

it does natively support multiple monitors.

resolution - 6040 x 1080

-They need to get a center hud fix going before launch, but as things go with demos, mostly what you see is what you get on release.

Damn, i don't think I've ever enjoyed a demo so much. And it works for me and all of my regular and BM resolutions. The controls are MUCH better than in the first game, but you don;t fire while crouched.

PS - Gamecopyworld has a trainer that removes time limit and map restraints. Not sure if the map limiter actually work, but i was able to play the demo for about and hour.

Well I guess I know what I'm doing all day tomorrow.

:( Well, I still have the issue where 3 x 16*10 resolutions (3840*800) do not display QTE prompts. This means every time I hijack an occupied vehicle, I have to swap to a distorted 3840*1024, and then swap back. Not ideal, and I have no idea how to fix it. And, I think I may such a minor voice that this bug will likely never get fixed. :( I will cross my fingers that this does not exist in the full game.

Shame there is no center HUD, it could've been on par with other games like AvP2 or BC2 in terms of eyefinity support.

My ONLY complaint is that this is one of those games where v-sync costs you a lot of frames... seems to jump from 30 to 60 and back again without much room in between, and I hate tearing

that is normal for vsync=on without triple buffering, fps drop from 60 to 30 to 15 and so on
try to find a way to force triple buffering, afair Catalyst just offered it for OpenGL, AtiTrayTools did the same, bug you could force it for DirectX in a game's profile

Me too! I'm using eyefinity on a 5850 at 5040*1050, plus bezel correction making it 5264*1050 (i think). I spent ages wondering how the hell people had been hijacking helicopters, since I didnt even know there were prompts.... I've tried with keyboard and mouse AND 360 pad- no prompts.

The QTE prompts for blowing stuff up like pipelines are still there.

Since our systems are so different, the only thing in common seems to be the resolution, that might cause it?

In a possibly unrelated incident, I think that alt-tabbing out somehow disabled bezel correction one time. Hmm.

Has anyone else tried running it at 5040x1050?

Hijack prompts don't show for me in any triple-wide res I've tried. Works in single. Being so easy to do, it just ends up being a waste. It's dumb. Plus teh skydiving controls suck. why not control guy with WASD and move camera with mouse? And Although you can nearly look staight p and down on foot, you can't even come close to lookgin straight up adn down while in an air vehicle. Pretty lame for landing choppers.

Oh adn one more thing - having to exit zoom to sprint. You should be able to start one action without stopping the previous ones. Like every other game.

But it's still fun and I'm sure the full version will address at least some of the little things that bug me.

Ah yes, and I cun't bind my mouse4 and mouse5 buttons.I really wanted to bind grapple to my thumb button. BTW there's a mod out that allows multiple grapple lines. pretty fun.

also have the hijack promts missing in a "smaller" triple-wide 4320*900 :?

What do you mean by 'easy to do'? Are the QTE's so easy that you don't need the prompt, or do they change every time you hijack something?

I'd really like to buy this game, but if I have to change resolution to hijack things that's a total deal-breaker. Anyone got ideas about who to email?

I understood what he meant to be the same way I feel: why are there QTEs for hijacking anyway?...they are so ridiculously easy to do, we should just press 'E" and be done with it.

And, I do not know who to email. Maybe a config change in the full game will dismiss the stupid QTE events completely.
