Judging by the seller it seems like they have just broken the street date, which means launch could be any time now if the shops are starting to get them in their possession. ;)

So... with this card you'll need DP (or active DP conversion?) for every (monitor) connection from the 3rd on(3rd 4th 5th and 6th monitor)?
or am I understanding this wrong?

The ebay listing is at least 3-4 weeks old. It was there when I first started researching my build. At that time it had a buynow price of 1800$. Personally I'd be highly skeptical, at 900$ it should have been sold multiple times by now.

Is there any reason to expect it to be anywhere near that price?

Should it be that much more than a 5870?
More than the 5970...?

I'd guess it'll be around $500 MSRP. Take price gouging into account, you'll be looking at it getting close to the 5970 MSRP.

5870 is $389 IIRC and 5970 is $599...

If the GF100 cards come out and a price war starts, then yes, perhaps we'll see $450. But I'm expecting to see $500. :(

Why is price gouging still going on, I really need an upgrade right now (I've gone done to 720p per panel on newer games).

I would have payed the initial price but I had just bought my new monitors and was out of cash. (Budget Budget Budget)

Would this be the right cable for the DP to MiniDP?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812270261

or

http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10246&cs_id=1024606&p_id=6007&seq=1&format=2

As well as for others...

I have The monoprice 32awg 6ft in the second link. Works perfect on my 5970 and my dell p2210.

Until large quantities of all the popular cards are sitting in the retailers warehouses and not shifting through as fast as they can be shipped in, there will be price gouging.

What annoys me is that prices fluctuate so much. I spotted a 5850 for £189 the other day (easily £25 cheaper than anywhere else) but I went back less than an hour later with intent to purchase, and it had gone up to £207. It wasn't in stock at either point, but it was supposed to only be a few days away. Now, for sub-£200, I was prepared to buy it, but £200 is my cutoff for a new card right now. e-tailer websites seem to have a click counter on them that automatically jacks the price up when people show interest in particular items...

Just a friendly warning - I would hold off purchasing stuff until you know whats in the box of the Eyefinity Edition.

Got the cables anyway Dave, and am hoping that the card comes out in the next 2 weeks or so. Because if I need to send them back, I can do it up to 3 weeks from the purchase date! Don't delay to much eh... :nudgenudge
