I have never installed powerdesk for the analogue version as it just buggered everything up. Is it really necessary for the digital version?

Reporting working here with i7 960 and SLi GTX260+ with 195.81 beta at 59.000 on Windows7 x64. Only 182.50 to worked before. Thank you. :)

Played some games and it seems mostly stable. I have experienced a few failures (e.g. in Avatar demo) where screen goes black (monitor goes to power saving) and sometimes locks up PC. Other times, Win7 is still running but without a visible display so I have guess key combos to shutdown and restart. After a clean reboot, it works properly.

I suspect that this may have something to do with display drivers not recovering properly after going to sleep or hibernating. I can't remember if I have ever experienced this from a clean boot then straight into game. This was happening since I switched from Vista x64 to Win7 X64 and every single driver tried.

Also, a warning for people using device profiles. The random fan speed profile bug is still there. I use device settings > profile to set up custom fan speed vs temp profile because the SLi cards are too close together (stupid ASUS mb design) and get too hot using the default auto-fan control. If I watch a movie for a few hours, sometimes the driver would randomly lower fan speed to 10% or jump to 100% (I am monitoring fan speed with Everest). I need to reset it from manual to automatic to manual again or reboot to make it work again.

Re: 5040 fix.. Not sure if this was something "fixed" in the latest NV drivers but have to admit that I never ever considered trying 59hz because all the docs I read here say to use 57hz only.

Please correct me if I am wrong but isn't 5040x1050x59hz beyond the DVI dual link specs. Are we over driving the output? Does this mean that we can use monitors that cannot handle 57hz now?

I think we all can use 60hz normal monitors with the 59hz setup, as far as I understand, 59hz is the upper limit of thr dvi spec 330mhz~

Thank you ... elior77 ... :twothumb

I have only been able to get Triple-Wide in Win 7 64-bit with the 181.71 drivers and I've been so busy of late that I gave up on Triple-Wide ... I went back to 3 x 5:4 monitors.
So ...
I already had the latest firmware, Powerdesk and drivers installed but I was running 3 x 5:4 monitors.
I switched to my 3 x 16:10 screens and followed your directions from "run the wizard for 1680x1050x1 @ 60Hz" in point 3.
In the custom resolution settings I set the Vertical refresh rate at 59.400 and all worked fine ...
I now have 5040x1050 @ 59.400Hz working in Win 7 with 195.62 drivers ... :surroundsmiley

Here's some links to the latest firmware, Powerdesk and drivers for those looking for them ...
Firmware (2.3.40.t6.56) ... http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/support/drivers/download/?id=360
Powerdesk (2.06.00.026) ... http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/support/drivers/download/?id=354
Drivers (GeForce 195.62 Win 64-bit) ... http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/win7_winvista_64bit_195.62_whql_uk.html

Love sent ... :triplewide

Edit: typo.

Thanks, Paddy, for posting those links. That will save me lots of time when mine turns up on Thurs.

Another very happy TripleHeader here...

Win7 x64, GTX285, 195.62
182.50 settings + 59.400 Hz: 5040 desktop but 'test failed'
182.50 settings + 59.350 Hz: success !

Big thanks elior77 :twothumb and cheers to everyone who struggled with this issue at some point. Looks like we're finally in the clear !

Another happy customer here. Win7x64, TH2go, GTX295 and 3 Dell 2209WA's

182.50 worked for me but without aero, this works with 195.81 and Aero :D

Thanks elior77

This process worked for me. Now running a stable 5040x1050.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
TripleHead2Go
2x GTX285 2Gb in SLI
3x Samsung 2433BWs
Nvidia 195.62
PowerDesk 2.06.00
Aero works fine
PowerDesk works fine

My magic Hz number was 57.500; which means I had to drop the upper Hz value to 58.

:cheers

Works here now too. Thank you very much for this. I've gotten a nice fps boost over the old 182.50's I was just running. W7 Pro should be here Saturday. Will install and set this all up again. Just wanted to prove to myself that it would work with my specs.

Dude, I went back to a single display because I had no hope.

I read your instructions with extreme skeptism, but...

I followed your instructions and am on the LATEST nvidia drivers (WITH AERO AND DX 10!) on Win 7 64 bit running at 5040 x 1050.

I am probably not allowed to swear in here, but

I F#*KING LOVE YOU MAN.

I was this close going the expensive eyefinity route (having to buy a display port adapter and new cards) or paying for a 30 inch monitor because I missed my 3 screen set up so much.

WILL YOU MARRY ME?!?!

The matrox firmware consist of the firmware and the video table, both need to be up to date in order to get 5040 @ 59.xxxHz

I need your help guys. Have installed latest Powerdesk and firmware. rebooted. start powerdesk and multi display setup / GXM / start GXM setup wizard / select triple head / auto select best mode (1680x1050) / on all my samsung syncmaster monitors it shows as analog on analog connector /

It runs thru the wizard and windows error has occured at APPLYING MODE. Any ideas chaps?

I cannot get past this WINDOWS ERROR at the APPLYING MODE phase. Can I just confirm that you must get this part working before you adjust any settings in the nvidia control panel?
