Nvidia added support for DirectX 10 + 5040x1050 !

Hummmm......

Alt-enter to get it out of widescreen worked fine, but even when I select DX10, I'm still limited to 3360x1050 and if it matters in windowed mode, I can't budge the refresh from 60.

Suggestions?

Have you used the matrox wizard to apply the 5040x1050 57Hz resolution ?

When I initially ran the wizard with the old drivers, it wouldn't let me select 1680x1050@57. It would always list @55, which is what forced me to choose 1440x900@60 and then when I selected 5040 in the windows resolution, it would just work correctly from there.

Just to clarify so there isn't any confusion (not to say you don't understand what I'm saying, I'm sure you do).... the windows desktop itself is at 5040x1050@57 right now. If I was to use the wizard and install widescreen modes as if I were trying to install for the first time, it would try to set it up as 1680x1050@55, but that would just make my lcd's freak out. I have to go 1440 and then change the rez from there.

I suspect part of my problem is having 2 different types of screens. The 2 Westinghouse screens do what's needed, but not nearly as well as the 1 Viewsonic.

Probably yes (3 x LGW2252TQ here), when i use the wizard to apply 5040x1050, it says "55 (Input Refresh Rate 57) Hz" , and i play all games at 57Hz 5040x1050, without any issues.

Just another reason for me to get 2 more Viewsonics. Oh well, at least the WH's have a wide array of video inputs to play with.

My copy of Windows 7 Ultimate arrived yesterday, so I decided to give 5040x1050 another go.

Here is what I did:

* Fresh install of Windows 7

* Installed Nvidia 191.07 drivers

* Restarted

* Installed Power Desk 2_05_00_020

* Restarted

* Ran Setup Wizard

* Set Triple Widescreen mode for 5040x1050 at 55hz

* Wizard Restarted

* Wizard gets error updating Windows Resolutions

I removed the Matrox box and plugged one monitor in and was able to set up a 1680x1050 resolution at 57hz without issue, so some thing is up with the Matrox box. I'm also only able to run Left4Dead through a single monitor without using the Matrox box; if I try it through the Matrox box the video cards freak out and stop responding. Everything else runs fine.

I'm going to try again tonight and try setting the Triple Wide settings to 1440x900. So far every attempt I've done, PowerDesk will not force the resolutions that it should.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64
Nvidia 191.07
PowerDesk 2_05_00_020
Firmware t6.56
3x Samsung BW2433

Far Cry 2 is running fine here on full screen at 5040x1050, DX 10.
Ill test other games on full screen too, its weird since im sure i tested it before and it would work only in windowed mode using DX 10 and 5040x1050.

I've actually been playing L4D with 3D vision for a while; but when I switched from 8800 GTXs to 285s, L4D suddenly will not run on my machine. For some reason, L4D wants to run at some odd resolution on start up and causes my 285s to stop working.

I've uninstalled and removed all directories for L4D and Steam; even did a fresh Windows 7 install; and L4D still does it.

No problems with any other games; including Batman and Crysis which are definate processor and GPU hogs; running at 3840x1024.

The odd thing, L4D will run when I just plug one monitor into a card without the Matrox TH2Go. So L4D is loading a config file from somewhere that is giving it bad resolution data or something.

Me too same problem , I found a solution :

L4D will not run if the desktop resolution is not 1680*1050 (the game run but the screen is blank) so put this resolution without confirming and start the game set at 5040*1050(This should be done every time you play).

Not quite understanding what you mean. And mine isn't running 5040x1050 currently anyway.

Do you mean setting the resolution in the Shortcut?

What's the command to do that?

-h 3840 -v 1024

UPDATE: Yep, that worked. -w 3840 -h 1024

In game I checked the Video settings and for some reason it was set to 1270 x 700.
