Possible solution - Starcraft

I was definatly not over 1920x1080, my monitors native resolution is 1680x1050, but I also tried 1440x900, 1024x768, it all gives thesame error!

If the author can add support for 2560x1600 that would be fantastic.

2560x1600 support has been added, Hellinsect is currently working on adding dynamic arrays to hos program. What does this mean? It means that no matter what resolution you set in ResSettings.ini you'll be able to play StarCraft with it and the controls and such will scale appropriately. Basically, once the new release is out you'll be able to play at whatever resolution you want.

Now, getting it working on more than one monitor, that's going to be a little trickier...

He sent me a version that works with 1920x1200 and 2560x1600 but it's just a beta build that has a couple of other problems.

With the dynamic stuff it shouldn't be hard at all, The game just sees that you have one monitor. So it shouldn't be any different.

Fantastic news. You do now know the years I've endured looking to increase the resolution on SC.

You can't yet it's still in development. The developer sent me an early beta version that supports these new resolutions but I can't release it. You'll just have to wait and check BattleHacks from time to time until Version 6 is released.

It would be great if this was also to work with WarCraft 2!!
Even there is Warcraft 3, WarCraft 2 is still a VERY GOOD game!!!
Hope someone makes this work also for WC2!!
Best regards.

I don't usually lurk on this board. Known solutions should be posted on the confirmed solutions board - I read everything there, and Starcraft in widescreen is a holy grail that needs processing ASAP.

Just made a solution thread with some screenshots. 1920x1200 seems to make it crash, though I can't imagine playing Starcraft at 1920x1200 anyway.

Don't use widescreen expander, use Resolution Hack, it's much better.

And you can ZOOM too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPGBr9Pw7xQ

Download: http://www.starcraftresolutionhack.de.vu/

PS. If you are having that color issue in Win7, just open resolution settings from your desktop and leave it open and it works. :D
