yes. i am running newest patch build..
v102_58134

I CAN NOT PLAY PLAY ARMA2 with triplehead2go
It will run at 1680x1050 on one monitor, but when i enable triplehead (4320x900)
i get a message saying unable to create graphical engine error message.

i am running Vista x64 SP2
8 Gigs of Ram
8800GTS 512 w/ v186.18 nvidia driver
Powerdesk Version 2.05

(i had better luck with nvidia v180.48 and powerdesk v2.04) but still gives me the error, if i start messing around with ther other graphics settings

On top of the triplehead problem, i have graphic anomolies playing at 1680x1050 where cockpit windows look like static noise, and objects have a polygonish boxes that exist all over the game... (i think this is due to having 8Gigs of RAM or more..)

BIS PLZ FIX....

Do you mean an error msg like this ?

Have you tried to edit this cfg file - C:UsersHomeDocumentsArmA 2 DemoArmA2Demo.CFG - , setting :

Resolution_W=3072;
Resolution_H=768;

If it works, you can set later in the game menu the 4320x900 res (cant check myself, im playing the demo, still waiting for my retail copy).

Getting that same error for nearly all settings. The only way I can get the game loaded is to run it in a window at the default settings. Probably a Windows 7 issue.

no it DOES NOT work.
everytime i get that error, i would have to go in to the profile folder, delete all the config files, so that when i restart the game, it would build new ones at a resolution of 1680x1050.

once it is at that resolution, i can get back into the game.
But if i try to enable 4320x900 in the video settings menu, it works up until i exit and go back into the game, there by getting the same error.

I BELIEVE IT IS A GRAPHICS DRIVER ISSUE.

White box..maybe you want to clear you Arma2 profile folder, and try other graphics driver and/or powerdesk ?

the older nvidia forceware and previous powerdesk was not as bad, but still got errors...

BIS ..PLZ Fix this.. I WANT TRIPLEHEAD GAMING!!

Dope,

Were you able to figure out how to get the HUD elements to appear in the middle screen?

Hi guys just set up my 3 22" monitors using softth for arma2 runs and looks great, to play i have to remove the softth hack start the game on 1 monitor shut it down ad the hacks then it starts up fine, no crashing and very smooth im using win xp 32 pro and 2x9800gtx+ one for the center the other for the other monitors, was thinking of getting a 285gtx so i can up the res.

I must say i'm very impressed the game looks great as is and is very playable.

CoD4 doesn't support TH out of the box.

The demo is also based off of the latest v1.02 patch for the full retail game, so the settings are similar. You can verify it's based off of the latest v1.02 patch by simply looking at the changelog for that patch. You'll see that the changes they mention in that patch are already part of the demo.

The graphics may or may not be sharp in the game depending on your settings. There are two resolution choices called "Interface" and "3D." Interface is basically the resolution of the game's window. Think of this as your typical resolution setting in any game. If you set it to 1920x1200, then the game is going to be running in a 1920x1200 window. The 3D resolution is what the game is actually rendered at before being scaled to your interface resolution. If you set the interface to 1920x1200, but the 3D resolution to 1280x800, then the game is going to be rendered at 1280x800 and upscaled to fit the 1920x1200 interface resolution. This will cause the game to not be sharp, of course. Likewise, you can set the game resolution to be higher than your interface resolution. Setting it higher will cause the game to be much sharper, but also a lot more intensive on the CPU and GPU. Post-processing also adds in depth of field blur, motion blur, and generally will smooth the scene out which may cause the game to also not look as sharp as you want. There are also options for anti-aliasing, which smooths the edges of objects out. This will take away the jagged edges, but also cause the game to look a little more blurry because there are no distinct edges.

Basically, there are a lot of ways you can configure the game to look, and it's up to you how you want it to appear.

Anyway, here are some arguments you can add to your shortcut for the game.

-winxp -- If you use Windows Vista or Windows 7, using this will enable multi-GPU support, but it will disable the use of D3D9Ex.

-nosplash -- Skip the startup splash screen.

-world=empty -- Does not load any world info, which results in a faster startup time for the game. It really only helps you get to the main menu quicker.

-maxmem=2047 -- Allows the game's engine to use more RAM. 2047 is a hardcoded maximum for the game because it's a 32-bit app, and setting it to anything higher than 2047 will cause it to fall back to 2047.

-window -- Starts the game in a window.

-noCB -- Disables multi-core renderering. If you experience visual errors, disabling mulit-core rendering might fix the errors.

-cpuCount=X -- Forces the game to use a specific number of CPUs. People report the setting it to 2 provides the best performance, even on quad-core processors.

I AM STILL GET THE "Error creating Direct 3D 9 Gpahical engine
when i try to run triplehead @ 4320x900

in my shortcut, i set my target as:
"C:arma2.exe" -winxp -maxmem=2047 -cpuCount=2

the game runs fine at single screen 1680x1050

but NO Triplehead2Go!!!!!!

(Note.. triplehead works after change settings from singlescreen to triplescreen BUT error appears when you start the game the next time around)

Does it look worse than these at 5040x1050 (latest patch)?

What are your settings for those screens? I still can't seem to get 5040x1050 working, I keep getting the can't render direct3d engine error. Perhaps you could post your Arma2.cfg settings.

Edit the ArmA2.cfg file at C:UsersHomeDocumentsArmA 2 to launch the game using 3840x1024 as resolution (i changed it to "read only" after doing it) and change in the game menu, video options, to run at 5040x1050 - then play.

Code: Select all

Resolution_W=3840;

   Resolution_H=1024;
