Thanks much.

Ive been trying to get this to work with my sli 260's and 3x x223w acer monitors all day. This beta version allowed me to view the desktop perfect where everything else failed.

I have yet to try gaming but I hope that gos well also. But for now it is sleep time as it is 2am and I got work tomorrow.

I'm about to give up on Matrox, and sell my second projector, and just go back to good-ole problem-free single screen gaming. The Matrox gear has never fully worked for me. 2880x900 was all I could ever get it to produce. And since Matrox, based on my discussions with their tech support team members, seem fairly blaise' most of the time about our problems. They make gear for gaming but they do not seem to be gamers, so at the end of the day I don't think they really care much about us.

This duration of time without support for my 295's is just ludicrous. I can't even get the 2880x900 that used to work. I keep checking on their site but nothing. Their last driver posting was Dec 19th 2008 for crying out loud.

I'm sure if I used regular monitors it might have worked better. But even if I did it wouldn't work now as they've told me straight up that they do not support the 295 series cards. . I really just don't think they care. Not at all.

I hate giving up. I hate quitting. I really do. Especially with tech gear. And especially after the money I spent on my projectors AFTER Matrox told me over the phone that their TH2Go would indeed work fine with my projectors (I wouldn't have pursued this setup without asking a lot of questions first..unfortunately all they did was say "yes" and not bother to check their own materials). But when the mfr doesn't care then what is the consumer to do?

SoftH2go is just no good. Not for quality frame rate gaming. Someone needs to crack one of the Matrox boxes and come out with community driver support. Maybe then it would really work... but at least it would be supported by people in the gaming community, who care about the gaming community.

Not that Im excusing Matrox's support, but there should be no specific reason the GTX295 wouldnt work. There is no period when it is/was "unsupported" as it uses the same drivers as every other current nVidia card.

Hi Zarkus, what version of the nVidia drivers for Windows 7 64 bit are you using? The 185 driver doesn't work you need the 182 driver.

From another post:
I got the same problems! It doesn´t matter if Win 7 or Vista (both x64) is installed! I tried the drivers (185.xx whql and beta) on both OS and always got the same problem!

GXM displays: its not possible to set my resolution, or something like that ( i dont remember what exact expression, but it was the first thing after you got to reboot after setting up GMX)

But with 182.xx nearly everthing went fine! Now I got 5040x1050@57 on both OS.....

In my oppinion its an NV driver issue!!

Do anyone have easy guide how to get this frak matrox shit to work?

This is how it works for me (System in sig):

Deinstall NV driver and PD

1. Install NV 182.xx, after reboot don´t change resolution or something
2. Install PowerDesk Beta
3. After reboot(or after installing PD??), I coudn´t choose 5040x105057Hz, there was only 55Hz, so I choosed 1440x900x3@60Hz
4. Reboot and confirming your resolution, you can switch your resolution to 5040x1050@57Hz in the Matrox GXM Setup.... in your taskbar

I hope i´d remeber it correctly....

Tobi

EDIT (Update):

I also tryed the new NV Driver 186.xx but no luck....

Matrox came out with a new powerdesk software, that makes it easier to set up mutli-display - including 5040 x 1050, but the (hz) is being recognized at 55 not 57, have not test out this resolution yet, will let everyone know later.

I was having issues before when I downloaded the latest Nvidia driver -ver 186.18, and it was only showing I have a max res of 4098 x 768, after the installed.. Downloaded this new matrox PD software and now both in Nvidia control and GXM, shows that the OS is recognizing 4320 x 900, and 5040 x 1050 and working okay at 4320 x 900 with the the 186.18 driver.

Will give an update when I test out the 5040 x 1050 setting

my system spec

2 Benq G2400WD
1 Beng FP241

2 GTX285

Home Vista 64
Q9550
Ram 8gb

update - 5040 x 1050 does not work when I first try it..

Dude, the beta is the same as the second to last actual version. The last one doesn't work with the 200's either. At least for me yet.

You misunderstood me.. Matrox has official release a new version of powerdesk.. v1.03.0020.0617 2.05 gxm/veos - its entirely revamp, new screens and interfaces..

I am now able to under matrox and nvidia setting to set up 5040 x 1050 setting, but under Matrox is showing as 55Hz, under Nvidia at 57Hz.. neither is working for me, when I test it out I get an error message failed, even those the monitors are switching to the setting.

Previously with the other matrox ver, I was getting 'out of range' and black screen.

I have install the latest Nvd. 186.18 also. ( I am running Vista Home 64 bit, with 2 GTX 285, with BENQ Mon - (2) G2400WD (1) FP241
