Monitors that will and won't run at 5040x1050 @ 57hz

Is checking whether or not your monitor will run at 57Hz as simple as -
A. Seeing if you can select 57Hxz in Screen-> right click-> Properties-> Settings-> Advanced-> Monitor tab-> etc and seeing if 57hz comes up, or
B. Seeing if 1680x1050 @ 57Hz comes up in the available modes in the Matrox Power desk, or
C. Both A & B
Just making a final check that I haven't missed something before buying 3 new screens.
Thanks,
CJ
The best and only sure way is, of course, to hook up the 3 monitors with a TH2Go and to actually see if the monitors do run at 1680x1050@57Hz.
Other than this, I guess the next best way is to hook up a single monitor with your graphic card and then select 1680x1050@57Hz to see if the monitor does work. If 1680x1050@57Hz does not come up naturally as a selectable option in the display properties, one can create a custom resolution+refresh rate and see if the monitor works at it or not. With this method, I can say, Dell 2407 and 2707 work ok.

Probable problem model
DELL E228WFP
Reason - Only supports 1680 x 1059 at 60 Hz.
The "Probable" is because I can't guarantee it's the issue, but I think I've addressed everything else.
CJ
Ignore above. DELL E22WFP is known working.
Spent 6 hours yesterday without luck. Spent 15 minutes this morning and bingo.

I have the Acer P223W and I can confirm that it DOES work at triple 1650x1050. I had to choose "Display resolutions that this monitor does not support" in Windows, but it's a rock solid display and I've had no problems with the screen scaling or being the wrong resolution.
Given all the other problems with Acer reported here, I'm rather surprised, so I thought it would be useful to have a positive report for this monitor, at least.

What did you end up having to do to fix it?

I'm not 100% certain, but I'd been trying to set up with 2 of the screens (working on the get 1 working, then 2, then 3 approach) and just decided to give 3 a go. Plugged the 3rd in and 5040x1050@57 appeared as an option.

Can confirm Samsung 2253LW (that's the 21.6" aqua one) and Samsung 2032MW work (that's a TV really). Only issue is, the 2253LW complains of non-optimal settings @57Hz, requiring you to press the menu button or wait 60secs to clear the warning...which is annoying. Oh, and the 2032MW whistles at 57Hz! :x
For the record, I'm using 2x2253LW and 1x2032MW temporarily, 1 of the 3 2253LWs I ordered was missing 2 threads for the VESA mounts! Good thing about the 2253LWs is they're cheap, good image quality and light...so friendly to lesser specced VESA mounts.

Oh, and the 2032MW whistles at 57Hz! :x
You mean it makes a noise or is that a description for it working well ?
Pretty bad if it does make a noise and I'm not sure that I would want to call that working ... :?

I mean it makes a whistling noise...like a kettle boiling a few doors down, it's faint, but definitely goes away when you turn the screen off. Whether that's true of all 2032MWs or just mine I don't know...but the image is displayed perfectly. Frankly the temporary error message on the 2253LWs is more annoying!

Monitor "whistling" is a difficult issue to deal with as it's pretty hard to generalize. For example some models are said to "whistle" when set to under 10% luminosity or sth, but then again not every owner experiences the issue. (Some other models are known to whistle all the time, and the manufacturer acknowledges the fact...)
Anyway, that kind of noise causes no harm to the monitor, and is rarely a deafening sound, so it shouldn't be a reason for counting a monitor model as "not working" imho - three of them can display 5040x1050 @ 57 Hz, right ? The list should definitely mention the issue though.

I've not got 3 2032MWs to check, but 1x2032MW and 2x2253LW have 5040x1050@57Hz spread across them right now, so I assume all is ok :)
I'm pretty sensitive to high frequency noise, it's not as bad as a CRT screen (all CRT screens whistle noticeably to me) anyhow.

I have a 22" center monitor a HP W2207 and 2 side monitors the Asus VW222U.
Unfortunately when switching to 5040x1050 only the center monitor (HP2207) shows a picture - the 2 side monitors (AsusVW222U) goes black.
So it seems that HP2207 works at 57Hz but the Asus VW222U doesn't.

I had the same 3 monitors and graphics GTX280, and don't work the 5040x1050@57Hz because in the samsungs 2253LW appears the famous message, and can't eliminate. The message appear again.
¿Your conection is in VGA or DVI?

DVI, and the message is definitely dismissable (or times out after 60 secs). Obviously the message reappears if the change the resolution and change back to 5040x1050@57Hz, or you turn the screens off and on again, etc.
To be honest I'm using 4320x900 at the moment, I've got games on the go and I don't want to see the message at all...if my workload is heavy it has to be 5040x1050 though

Just confirmed that Dell 2007WFP revA04 (S-IPS) doesn't work at 57Hz - I have two of them - both failing on that freq.
Viewsonic vx2025wm works fine - displays its part of the desktop no problem.
