Btw the TH2G Expander tool does not work in Windows Vista.
You may be able to force the resolutions but I have no idea.

8800GT isn't ideal for the very resolution of TH. It'll run but you really want more memory and bit-depth than the 8800GT provides.
It's cheap enough though. So it might be a resonable compromise.
The benchmarks I saw show mostly no memory limited frames drops even at high resolutions like 2560x1600.
I do not think that 512MB is enough but 768 is aswell and so both cards have to outsource.

i just got 2 8800gt's yesturday upgrading from 1 8800gts and this setup now is killer. everything is running superfast with no lag at all, however crysis is still crysis and i can have everything set to high except the shaders which i put to medium. all and all this is a huge upgrade from a single gts so i'm not complaining one bit over here. either way these bad boys will definitely hold me off until nvidia releases the new 9

yeah i run crysis with 3840x1024 works great, i have every setting set to high, but i put the shaders down to medium, the game runs great, even in the alien boards that were tough with the gts to handle run suprisingly well with the gt's. for the price of these beast's you can't go run, i'm VERY happy and recommend these to anybody, even my race 07 game runs way better now, crazy really, these games feel totally different when they run better, like a new game. its great.

I would be interested in a benchmark of crysis, can you do that please?

I wouldn't expect much, but with a little tweaking it will be alright. Crysis isn't seeing very good gains under SLI.

if true it would run faster at th resolution with one 8800gt.

to be honest, i don't know how to do a benchmark test but i played through the whole game and haven't had any slow ups at all, i'm getting around 20fps but really, the game runs suprisingly well even at 20. the game doesn't lag at all through the whole time. even if sli isn't maximizing the experience then i still have to say that the 2 8800gt's that i'm using now, whether it be that only 1 is doing it or 2 that these cards are running crysis and all my other games better then with 1 8800gts 64mb OC
