Anyway ... as medium doesn't make a difference in the fps and low is unbearable after seeing it at high so I'm going stick with my settings and hope that Nvidia bring out some real drivers for this game.
Oh and SLi ... on or off makes no difference it seems.
hmmmm ... very odd ... perhaps it is an 8800 thing ... but I wouldn't have thought so.
Try them one at a time to see which one is causing the problem ?
Just looking at your sig showing SLI, and I thought of something (related to Crysis still). Wouldn't it be nice if there was some kind of SLI setting where you could have one card (8900/9800 when I upgrade) rendering the visuals, and having the previous card (my 8800GTX) for doing physics.

That sig is out of date, a couple of days ago I updated my rig. So this is the kick in the butt I needed to install Photoshop.

I wish this could happen.
There is something like that, its called Ageia PhysX, and its not very widely supported unfortunately.

Yeah I know about the Aegia, but I wasn't too convinced by it. I feel an SLI card for just physics would be awesome. It would be nice to hang on to the previous card when you get a new one.
Sure ... it would be cool ... 8)
I'll let you know how I get on with that PhysX card and the ultra all the same ... you never know ... ...
Anyway ... new Nvidia beta drivers out ... just now ...

ForceWare Release 169 BETA
Version: 169.04
Recommended driver for Crysis single player game demo and TimeShift.
Lets hope they help !
@ MobsterOO7 ...
Can you not see my posts ?
I left a message for you ... regarding the tweaks and your system crashing ... you haven't replied ...
I think JosephJEHancock was referring to my sig and I already posted about the PhysiX card and how I was going to try it right before your post but your post is as if I hadn't posted.
Looking into it a bit further I don't think Crysis can use it though.
I have just bought a EVGA 8800 Ultra (Superclocked Mem 2250MHz, GPU 655MHz) to try with the Physx card ... should be with me in a couple of days.
It is really for a new system I should be getting soon but I fancied a play and wondered if it would be better that what I have now as the SLi isn't working ....
The new system will of course have another Ultra in it ... :D
Holy shit, mate, that's insane. 8) Cool, but insane. :D
Already tried that long ago with the beta and more recently with the SP demo ...
It however made the system crawl at 3840x1024 ...
I have however found a sweet spot I think ... with some of the eye candy from the DX10 stuff.
I think even with a couple of ultras it would struggle with everything at max
We can only hope they can somehow miracle up some better drivers or that the full game will be better optimized.

Whoops.
Actually I didn't see the post.
I reinstalled and have yet to try the tweaks one by one.
I'm a student and have had to be somewere for most of the afternoon. But don't worry; when the time is there, I will be too.

Cevat Yerli mentioned in a recent interview that they would do what Valve do, and update the game for the next 2-3 years. I am betting it will be even more stunning when we can all max it at high res.
the demo worked fine with me. everything set to high and then changed the config files as descripted in the link.
i can't give you a FPS number but it was playable; i din't notice any lag whatsoever, but i generally consider 20 - 30 as playable (at least for operation flashpoint/ArmA) so i guess FPS in crysis are somewhere in the high tens, low twenties.
the graphics are just fantasic, it feels very immersive. they just need to add a better way to switch between the suit modes. in the middle of a firefight i'm not going to fiddle around with the lousy menu. apart from that - very cool demo -> imma buying this game.
