Re: Beyond Good and Evil: Detailed Report
Yeah, if it was vertical stretching, then you could run it at a 4:3 resolution, but have your GPU stretch it out horizontally, making it anamorphic in a sense closer to the original meaning than our usage.
Re: Beyond Good and Evil: Detailed Report
Thanks for the nobands registry tip, looks much better now fullscreen.
For those having audio/video sync problems, select 60hz refresh rate in the BGE settings and make sure your monitor is also running at 60hz. Game runs perfect now in widescreen. Thanks!!!!

Re: Beyond Good and Evil: Detailed Report
It actually isn't running any better in widescreen than it did before. Things are still stretched out, only now you have extra vertical FOV instead of black bars.
Re: Beyond Good and Evil: Detailed Report
how come author of thread says this:
==Singleplayer anomalies==
None.
---
Arent - "everything is stretched" considered as anomaly?
How about someone who knows Racer_S ask him gently to make another trainermemhack that will do magic tricks with fov , croping and other things?

The stretching is covered under the screen change section. The "Singleplayer anomalies" section is more for miscellaneous issues not covered elsewhere.
Re: Beyond Good and Evil: Detailed Report
If anyone is interested, the GameCube version is actually Hor+ in widescreen and surround. Even has a centered HUD. Go figure...
I posted up the exact settings and emulator version I used here: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=18996

No. You can override the aspect ratio in Dolphin but I don't think you can remove the letterboxing with that game version. PC version is still stretched with or without the letterboxing.

in pc version if i use a 16:9 monitor will look stretched?
Re: Beyond Good and Evil: Detailed Report
Do you have a regular 16:9 monitor or a magic one?
Re: Beyond Good and Evil: Detailed Report
I have FullHD LCD TV, and I found that the "best" (i.e. least worst) solution is to use the "NoBands" trick and play in 1440x1080 - that way you get a 4:3 resolution with 1:1 pixel mapping and you don't see top and bottom bars. It is a real pity that it is not possible to play this game in real proper widescreen on PC.
I also had serious flickering on Win7 x64 with GTX460, which disappeared after disablig "HW Vertex Processing" or some such.
Anyways, for those who have an Xbox360 there are good news - the game is available at XBLA for 800 MSP and as far as I noticed renders in 1080p with widescreen support. The PS3 version is supposed to come out "later this year". If anyone knows how to make screenshots on a 360 (except for photographing a tv ;) ) let me know and I will gladly make some screens, if anyone's interested.
