I have been trying for awhile to get Mafia to work in widescreen but after a lot of work I just get the message:
Detected Game.exe: v.1.2 Eng.

This version of Game.exe infected with SafeDisc.
WideScreen Fix will be disabled.

Took a lot of work to get BSV6 running and then I used it to edit the scene2 files but I am stuck now.

I also thought I would try the Optimized Mafia mod since it is supposed to fix widescreen as well. But I can't register at Mafiascene because it not sending the e-mail I need to register.

...I see no one else having these problems as well as problems I had getting to this point. Can anyone help?

I have Mafia 1 on Steam.
