As for them closing the forum, maybe some of the Matrox community will make their way here?
I resemble that remark. :) I'm disappointed that they decided to close that forum. It was a good resource.

I have been in touch with my contact at Matrox. I have asked if they can place a link to the WSGF on their notification page. While Matrox may still be the best place for tech support issues with the TH2Go, I explained how I felt the TH2Go userbase would still like a community to be a part of.
Hopefully I will know more soon.

Richie does come here to post solutions etc ... lets hope he keeps coming !
Hey Paul,
I've been good ... just busy with every day married life things. Not much time lately for computer games. I hope you're all well too. Little late but best wishes from me for the 2007.
I know Richie comes around here ... I'm just hopping he comes to this thread to gives us an inside about what happened. I've been on that forum for quiet some time too and would like some explanation.

I am shocked right now back from my vacation....
I can not understand this.
I have always loved Matrox because of their high-quality technical support and especially the forums.
I understand why Matrox has closed the forums. It was costing them too much to have a bunch of people complaining about the mediocrity of their products.
Mhm I think the forum itself could not be too expensive for such a big company ( i know many companies of a couple people having a forum)
Maybe it was the manpower ( RichieG).
But are they unemployes now?
No they are answering the support emails that is to my opinion less time effective support.
You are right with matrox postion in the end user graphics markets but why did they release TH2G with its gamer related marketing ?
It is clear that it depends on a nvidia vga card.
Now matrox will take one more step backward into the gre zone of anonymity until nowbody knows what and that they are selling products.

They released it for us (xParhelia users). Now they don’t have to do anything. They can say goodbye to us on good term. It’s not up to them anymore.

mhm (my) Parhelia time is over so I can understand your opinion in a certain way but the DH2G / TH2G was released 2006 and its mga forum was very informative and effective to close is uncomprehensible.

I do agree with everyone that this was sudden and unexpected. We just have to look at the facts that Matrox doesn’t want to continue being a player in the gaming industry.

So it would be good to stop selling DH2GO and TH2Go as surround gaming experience (they even trademarked surround gaming and they have a SG zone) and stopping the SGU.

It's a sad fact that when talking to young sales people in local computer shops a good 90% + haven’t even heard of Matrox, about the only ones that have are people who were into computers when the Parhelia came out and they have heard of it.
Matrox had a great opportunity to get right in the thick of it with LCD's and DVI and the release of ever faster graphic cards like the 8800 to make Matrox the buzz-word in gaming with a giant poster in every computer shop, I could just imagine the headline "Immerse yourself with Matrox TH2G".
Marks out of ten for a guess at what they did?
They totally blew it, and shut their forum down.
Two very good observations:-
RUS007 "We just have to look at the facts that Matrox doesn’t want to continue being a player in the gaming industry."
Starfighter "Now matrox will take one more step backward into the grey zone of anonymity until nowbody knows what and that they are selling products."
Bit late with the second one... as I said 90%+ don't know if it's a toaster or a compter part. :(

Not totally, but indeed maybe a deeper relation to Nvidia would have been more productive.
But otherwise they could have lost their independence, or worse could have become a part of the nvida corporation :)

Well it appears that they will, because now, instead of going tot he forum to see what bug fixes or other solutions for the TH2G have been found by others like ourselves, we must email them and ask for assistance directly.
"The Matrox Graphics Technical Support team is available to offer quick and accurate support when required. "
Well, to do that, then, it appears that they closed the forum so they could go out and buy every game imaginable as to have them on hand for troubleshooting eh?
Very bad move IMO matrox. I have no issues coming here to scan posts, but we all know the best source of knowledge is from your existing customer base. There are still links in search results for certain program issues that lead back to the closed forum.
As a techie, I'm fine because I can come here or find other forums, but for others, returns can be seen in their futures, because they are not going to have that knowledge, and you guys certainly are not going to be able to cover every application out there yourselves, it takes a community to do that, and positive or negative, it was the best part of havign support forums online.
