They reintroduced the sniper rifle, but the 'Lightning Gun' was still their favourite sniper weapon to place on maps.

To be honest, I think they were trying to stop snipers in Facing Worlds - but totally screwed the guns for everything else, too...

Half the fun on Facing Worlds was getting the tactics right to take down the snipers :)

Have the still got the Redeemer in the new games?

The Unreal3 Engine is supposed to run very well on lower and mid level systems according to Epic. Also, remember that this is still a DX9 engine.

Epics games have always ran well on my systems in the past, and I have faith in them. I plan to build a new system in December anyways, but I think most people without top-of-the-line systems will see great performance.

Yeah. Facing Worlds 3 is one very pretty looking map. :)

I might have to install UT2004 (i did buy it very cheap from play.com a few months ago, but never got round to actually playing it!) to have a look ;).

I just recently started playing UT2004 again, and it's a blast! Always have to play on 120% speed though, or it's just too slow. ;)

Or rather, according to Epic, "When it's done".

At least when Epic says "When it's done" it actually does eventually get done, unlike a certain other company ;).

Sadly this is true. I'd rather have no game than buy a beta.

I must say, graphically it looks very much the same as Gears of War (same engine i beleive)... which is certainly a good thing!

Thats a cracking game too :).

Ok, I have a question. If UT2007 is now Unreal Tournament 3, then which game is Unreal Tournament 2? UT2003 or UT2004? I remember that UT2k3 was called UT2 while in production, but UT2k4 was the one that actually pushed the gameplay forward.

Good question, If 2003 is UT2 then 2004 is an expansion pack.
If 2004 is UT2 then 2003 never existed...

None the less 2004 was not that big of an update over 2003.

Maybe it could have something to do with the engine since this is unreal engine 3.
