BF2 Widescreen

Post by skipclarke »

[quote]I just bought a Viewsonic VX2025wm and also get those "Out of range" messages with my 7900 GT. I was so looking forward to Battlefield 2 at 1680 x 1050.

If *anyone* knows *anything* that can help I'd be eternally grateful (switching DVI port only results in a black screen).

I read from ALOT of people that they have scaling issues with LCD's and 7900GT cards (the 7900 line up in general) I dont think there's a fix yet :(

Now there is a fix; the new 9x.xx driver has sorted this out for me and I can run BF2 on my VX2025wm / 7900GT just fine. Before I got the "Out of range" message and the screen would be streteched. Totally lovely...

New drivers for my ATIx800 also solved the problems for me.

I had to change the commandline to
"P:Battlefield 2BF2.exe" +menu 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

to get it working and not crash to desktop. Note its only the game not
the menu that uses the commandline resolution.

Game appears to look pretty good with that +widescreen setting, i didnt notice any stretching in the game:

Not really sure if the FOV is fine or not, but it seemed very playable to me.

(ignore the terrible graphics, fresh install)
