GRAW demo, who else is disappointed

I had more than once that one of the members just ran in to a with enemys infested courtyard even though i ordered him to hide behind a wall or something. Really irritating. :?

yeah. It would be nice if the AI followed basic movement formation & rules of engagement. i hate having to go cover stupid AI who is trigger happy.

Forgot to mention: Yet another big title military game that has ignored the proper use of medics... this would add such an element to the game; not just run & gun. (so for example a teammate might get cut down, but he's still alive. you have to rescue him, maybe even get him to a medivac. These things complicate real life missions ... and would be a welcome change from simple move from A-to-B, kill all the bad guys style of games )

I agree on the order thing. It should be more faster in the first place.
To me it looks like there is some lag in it so getting the right order is kinda hard.
On the 3rd person view, i got over that. I was really disappointed at first but i think it would kinda screw up the gameplay on pc.
I think it would look cooler but the gameplay would suffer of it.
Now i have played the game i discovered that.
The stance buttons i have no problems with, i kinda like it actually.

I've been playing it on Hard ... which makes it fabulously difficult ... ... just the way it would be in reality and just the way I like it ...
Move slowly taking your time to survey ahead ... it can be done.

I know what you mean about the stance keys ... but after playing about with them in the game for a while I'm happy with them.

For the directing of the team mates ... use 1, 2 or 3 to select the team mate then Scroll Wheel to choose option and click it ... easy ... :D

I don't particularly want 3rd person view ... I'm happy with things as they are ... but I have no objections to it being added ... :D

I haven't needed or thought about a medic ... I'll check it out ... there are medics in the 360 version ... :?

Other than the Medics ( if they are not in there) the only thing I would like to see changed is ... I want AA !!!! ... dump the lighting thing add bloom and AA !!!!

Yeah, the jaggies suck bigtime. Everwhere you look there are jaggies.
Some games don't suffer that much from jaggies but in GRAW i notice them like never before. :?

Looking at Paddy's screen I'd say it looks a bit sharper than the 360 version...but you can see that there is no AA and the 360 version has a lot more bloom.

If you think it's hard, you are probably rushing too much. Don't rely on your teammates too much because as people have mentioned, they are pretty dumb. Use them, but if they are dying don't risk yourself to save them.

You really have to plan your attack and go nice and slow, if you have the UAV USE IT! It spots everyone and puts them on your radar. Just take it nice and slow and never let yourself be out in the open unless it is to quickly kill someone and get back under cover.

it feels clunky, too many things to do, at one point th AI players decided not to follow me and i couldnt seem to tell them to do anything... :S

of course no one here advocates the use of such websites, but i agree, a bit of a disapointment :)

I just download the demo, graphically its pretty decent, but the lack of AA is annoying as they game has a lot of jaggies!

I was playing the 360 version today and it looked almost identical. although as IIDX said, the 360 version has a lot more bloom. I dont know if that makes it at all better really, as i think a lot of developers have gone completely over the top with bloom.

Im real life, ive yet to see the sky above me turn completely yellow as i look up :) (regardless of if im looking into the sun or not!)

I downloaded the demo and fired it up, but it would not give me any widescreen resolutions to choose from. How doid all of you get yours to work? Am I overlooking something?

I want to run it at 1920x1200.

Weird. It was just selectable in the dropdown box in the game for me. Along with all the other widescreen resolutions.

Just play it stretched. Ghost Recon: Advanced Fat-Fighter. The fat enemies will be easier to target! :P

Hey guys ...
There is a solution to add widescreen resolutions by Death_Masta187
For those that can't see the resolutions in the menu's ... see here ... http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/6316

Thank you Death_Masta187 ... :D

I removed it from the solutions page as I was getting all the resolutions and I thought may be it was an ATI thing but it seems not the case ...
It checks your graphics card and then the options it gives you are based on how good it thinks your card is ...
I've not been feeling too well so I haven't had a chance to write up the Solution.

I will try to do it soon .... thanks.

Interesting review of GRAW. These guys speculate the "missing resolutions" are due to the amount of memory on your video card.

Have you played the Full Spectrum Warrior series? It sounds like what you want...

The textures look fine to me, on an x1800GTO... it's probably an sm2.0 vs sm3.0 thing. I didn't look for jaggies, but if they were there it wasn't annoying enough for me to notice.

At standard difficulty, well I got popped and popped fast not expecting those military guys standing in the middle of street were going actually enemies and firing a warning shot to see what they'd do. ;)

No problems with the AI squad on follow, they've saved my arse twice so far when all I could do was prone behind cover... the only thing I actively directed was the drone.

I'm not used to the c/v stance changes yet, I'm also put off by the f menu weapon select...

I'll reserve final judgement until i'm further into the game and need to use the squad for something besides basic mop-up duty.

GRAW TWEAK GUIDE: http://www.tweakguides.com/GRAW_1.html

(to help paddy get his system *down* to more realistic sub35fps rates like the rest of us ;) )

kanzaki: yeah i loved FSW. lacked the replayability and multiplayer of graw though.
