hi guys

The vertical crop/chop in godfather is a pain in the ass.. just try to select your mobe face using 16:9 resolution... you just DONT SEE the face you are creating... (i admit that ingame is net a BIG problem...)

for the guys who asked about how to enter a costum resolution just:

1. Click on Start then go to Run.
2. Type in regedit and click OK.
3. Left-Click once on the plus sign next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
4. Left-Click once on the plus sign next to a folder labeled Software.
5. Left-Click once on the plus sign next to a folder labeled Electronic Arts.
6. Left-Click once on the plus sign next to a folder labeled The Godfather the Game.
7. Left-Click on the Video Settings folder and we want to edit the Size X and Size Y.
8. First double click next to the Size X and change the value to 1360 then click ok.
9. Second double click next to the Size Y and change the value to 768 then click Ok.
10. Now you can close the registry editor.

I can't find the place (reg, ini, etc) where we can change fov h+ in order to have real widescreen and not fov V-... sommeone knows if the ps2 or xbox versions have true widescreen? if the console versions have fov h+ is just a question of tweacking...

I guess it does but I didnt notice it until I compared the above screenies.I dont think it takes away from the game.Also did notice it in the "mobface"portion but thats it..Its definetely better than no ws support at all.
Strangely, the biggest irony of all this: If you look through the 'extras' disc of the Godfather Collection DVD box set, they mention that The Godfather (the original 1972 film) was actually filmed in a 4:3 aspect ratio, but each scene was aligned so that it would look nearly ideal either in theaters (widescreen) or on TV. I don't remember for sure, but I think they even said something about when the films were shown on TV (at least early on), that they were shown as originally filmed, rather than taking the widescreen version, and 'pan-and-scanning' that. So essentially, the widescreen version of the original film is done in a sort of...vertical pan-and-scan...if that makes any sense...

That's called soft-matting, and it's more common than you might think. However, not all soft-matted films are shown full frame in every scene. When you are shooting a film in 4:3 and you intend to soft-mat it later, you tend not to care if filming equipment is visible in the upper and lower extremeties of the frame, because you are going to mask it off later. These shots, when shown on TV, are pan & scan instead of full frame.

I hope this is ok to ask some other questions about The Godfather in this thread?

I just got TG,I installed it,started the game and chose 1680*1050 in the game and started playing...But ever since I exited the game and wanted to play the game later on it will not start...The only thing that happens is that the screen goes black and The Godfather logo/text appears and 2006 and bla bla and game exit and goes back to desktop....What gives??
anyone have any ideas??
