AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH, Please, don't let it be true.
EA is the publisher.
Please, please let them see before it's released widescreen does exist. :(

Well they are just the publisher, not the developer, so it should be ok.

Publisher doesn't really have that much to do with the game itself.

Publishers unfortunately do have quite a bit to do with the end product...

Publishers say when the game's to be released and they typically fund the project and thus choose how much or how little Quality Assurance is to be done (since it's EA, expect very little QA, and thus a fucking buggy game). EA typically don't support the developers to do post-release bug-fixing / patching.

Man... Electronic Arts is the worst publisher ever. I already now know that Spore's going to be buggy at release, and that I therefore won't buy it.

Not that I disagree or anything - but they're also the publisher who've made the most money in the last 12 months... :(

Hehe, so true.

EA games are such poop. I didn't really realize why everyone hates EA so much until xbox 360. Every single EA game on 360 looks and plays like it was thrown together by a bunch of idiots who have never played a game before.

The achievements are so damn boring and uninspired that it makes me upset.

The only thing they think about is making money, they have no feeling for the one who plays the game whatsoever.
I hate that kind of attitude.

Hahahaha...... SPORE is doomed before it's even had time to spawn. I've just crossed this off my list. Next!

Precisely. EA don't know shit games and they don't care about the quality of their releases. All they care about are the Benjamin$.

I could care less if this game says EA on it. Will Wright in my book overrides pretty much any EA or Valve level evilness. If Spore was only released on Steam, I'd still get it.

I am glad to see a renewed interest in this game now that the video is on Google. I'm hoping more comes out of GDC this year.

If anyone wants to see procedural gaming now, you can download a 96kb game from here. Scroll to the .kkrieger entry. 96kb is all the game needs to generate full FPS levels with different weapons, enemies, and sounds. It's not the greatest quality right now, but should give people an idea how a few kb of data will let Spore share your entire world with other players.

What did valve ever do wrong besides botch one release date?

They've given us some of the best, most popular games ever and even an amazing system Steam. I love Valve

Ive got no problems with valve, and i actually really like steam.

I just added all my serial number into it and now i can download the games whenever i log into the account. So much easier than searching around for cd's.
