I can confirm that it doesn't support widescreen out of the box. However it does support higher 4:3 ratio resolution. It auto detect your video card and monitor capability and only give you the option that's supported by your hardware.
Anyway, I am very disappointed by this. It's just retarded not to include widescreen support on this one.
Um....I don't think this is accurate. There isnt any option to change the aspect ratio, and scanning the hardware comes up with the standard resolutions. Anyone find something different?

I think the 'no aspect ratio change' thing was dugdug's point. ;) 4:3 is the normal ratio - like 1024x768 and 1600x1200. It can't be changed. What he was saying was that it does support res's over SXGA... :)
swkotor2.ini edited width and height under [Graphics Options]. 1280x720 doesn't work. Good Luck.
Since 1280x768 works why don't you guys try that? That is HD quality and give you smoother than anything higher like 1920x1200, or 1280x1024. For those with higher res screen you might try use non-full screen mode for PIP.

I think it's an issue with the LCD not correctly supporting that res. It goes into a virtual desktop mode if i switch my display resolution to 1280x768.
The windowed mode with the LCD at 1280x80 looks to be good enough though.
Hmm never tried 1280x768 on my TV before, sadly it turns out that the TV (Sagem Axium 50") "thinks" it's a 4:3 resolution so I still get the black borders (in Windows as well as in the game).
1920x1080 (a resolution I know my TV supports properly) doesn't work either so I'm still out of luck.
BTW I tried to start a petition at petitiononline twice now about this but I never get the confirmation e-mail. Perhaps we should just bug their support by sending e-mails requesting widescreen?
Again, since 1280x768 works any widescreen system (except 1280x720) such as 1680x1050 can run at pixel perfect mode (windowed) with remaining pixels for other fun info (sports scores, news, etc.) or scale up w/ stretch mode with correct aspect ratio. I find that 1280x WS is best overall (even when I have the options to run games at 1920x1200.)
1280x600 and 1280x480 also work, awesome super WS and fov more lifelike, can also improve performance. For reference, OAR of most movies are 2.35. Now all WS systems can run w/ one of these 1280x modes, even 1280x720. Have fun y'all.

Personally I want to run in full screen, so 1280x600 would just switch around where the black borders are... :(
I'm having trouble getting it to play windowed, I only get it stretched within the 1024x768 resolutions in full screen.
What exactly do I edit to get it to play in a window?
in the swkotor2.ini fullscreen=1 (0=off and 1 =on).
Again, if you truly understand the benefits of 1280x you will see why many find that it's the best (even if all other res avail). If you still want to scale up to your max res you still can just make sure you set to scale up w/ correct aspect ratio.
