L4D2 Center HUD fix
Re: L4D2 Center HUD fix
Hi which app do you speak of?
If you mean the WSGF HUD editor, then yes it certainly does support bezel compensation.
Did you follow the wiki guide I made?
Can you post any screent shots and or the files you are currently using so we can check over them?

Yep, I was talking about that HUD editor. I've created a custom mod for 6048x1080 but the results in game are the same than your standard 5760x1080 mod, some items are partially hidden behind the bezels. I will post some screenshots when I get home later today, but here are the files that it generated.
basechat.res
hudlayout.res
scoreboard.res
And here's the vpk I created:
6048x1080.vpk
Asus Rampage IV Formula / Intel i7 3930K C2 / 32 GB G.Skill RipjawsZ DDR3 2133 Quad Channel
Corsair Force GT 60 GB SATA3 / WD Caviar Black 2 TB / Seagate Barracuda Green 2 TB
3 x Radeon 7970 in Benq XL2420T (EyeFinity 5760x1080 @ 120Hz)
Oculus Rift
Corsair Force GT 60 GB SATA3 / WD Caviar Black 2 TB / Seagate Barracuda Green 2 TB
3 x Radeon 7970 in Benq XL2420T (EyeFinity 5760x1080 @ 120Hz)
Oculus Rift

6048x1080.vpk
Just checked the files, they xpos values have been incremented by 853...
Code: Select all
Resolution of single monitor: 1920:1080
Number of monitors? Across:3 Tall:1
Using bezel compensation? - Yes
Bezel corrected res: 6048:1080 Auto DetectShows me that the incremented value should be 917, not 853.
The tool works, just try again.

Re: L4D2 Center HUD fix
You are right, it's working fine, maybe the BC check was unchecked after editing the first file and I generated two non-BC files on my mod. I did it again and now I got a perfect 6048x1080 mod. Thank you very much.

Well i finally got all three
Well i finally got all three files edited and put them in their perspective folders. Hex-Edited hudlayout out of the the .vpk with . I join a game and get a message saying that Steam is "Enforcing Consistency."
I also tried Delphiums' pre-edited .vpk and when the game loaded, a huge amount of assets were not drawn.
EDIT:
Okay i tried the pre-made 5040x1050 add-on, and it works fine. My bezels chops some of the health info on, but i astill see when I'm under 80%. So it'll do.

Is (Steam is "Enforcing Consistency.") a ban? Is this HUD mod safe to use for online gaming?
Not at all. It seems that
Not at all. It seems that it's not possible to use the HUD mod on official servers.

This is correct.
When Valve re-organized the mod functionality for L4D2 to push everything into .vpks, all official servers implemented said checks that prevent the HUD mods from working. Whether or not the mods work on 3rd party servers is a crapshoot depending on what each server allows/disallows.
