Don't know if this is ATI related or not but you mentioned "data files" which means you're running mods. Have you tried to not complicate the issue and run the game with no mods?
Only reason I ask this is because if the mod hasn't been updated for v1.3.7 TESV than THAT can brake things. I have no issues with no mods so it is just my penny penny (2 cents)
I would also recommend removing any mods. If they weren't updated for 1.3 then they could be causing issues. I run the game with no mods other than the 4gb LAA patch and don't encounter any issues at all. Of course, this doesn't guarantee no issues, but it's something you should try if you are having issues, along with verifying the game data in steam.
CTD's

All you guys that are having lots of CTD's using the LAA executable make sure you are using the latest version of this executable. I was having constant CTD's after 1.2 until I updated to the latest version. I think it's still 1.4 which is found here: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1013. I was having a large amount of CTD's until I updated to this December 1st version.
Not sure if any of you are using an old version but updating to the latest one sure helped me. I am also running about 15 mods. I can't run for more than about 30 seconds on the steam executable without a ctd, except for save games that are in very remote areas around the map. If I am anywhere near a city it's an instand CTD. I am running the latest LAA execuatable though and haven't had a single crash since I updated.

Interesting and good point.
I am using an old LAA patch (probably the very first) and Catalyst 11.9 drivers and I don't have any issues, but if I do come across some, I will try the latest patch. Thanks for posting it!

I do not have any mods installed. Just the 4GB, which is the latest version (Dec 1st).
I was referring to this one:
which shall only have the top entry ticked:
This seems to be caused by trying to many versions of the related files.
So if you find CTD's on the game start, you could check this.

Yeah I am running the same configuration and I have to say this is the most stable and complete patch yet for me. I haven't had a single issue so far.
HaYDeN is the man! I I built this system just for this game alone and wouldn't even be playing it if it wasn't for all the awesome people on this forum who've figured all this stuff out. I haven't been on a thread ever that had so much good input on one topic.
EDIT: Actually I have been having one minor issue since 1.3 came out but I am not sure what is causing it and am going to do some more testing tonight to see if it's related to the .9 patch or the LAA executable by itself. When I use console commands such as showinventory, additem, or equipitem on any NPC or companion the console command for them won't work when I run the LAA executable and .9 patch. It runs the console command without errors but nothing happens. It seem to work if I do an player.additem or player.equipitem on myself but won't work on any NPC's or other charachters after I select them. However, I know it's not a syntax thing because it works if I can somehow manage to load the game without the LAA executable (CTD's) and .9 patch from the steam executable. I was thinking this was occuring from mods but the mods are still installed when I get it to work without the LAA executable. Anyway it's not a big deal. I wouldnt' worry so much about that but I've had to use the console to get past some quest bugs.

Something I have noted;
Clicking in the world is not what I was clicking.. eh? 3 people on screen Left to Right, A B and C. Center'd on each monitor. You click on B (with console up) and you get an ID tag. It, actualy for -A-. I was using "removeallitems" for testing as it is obvious and instantly visable. With con' still up, you would see thier weapon dissapear. Drop con' and everything goes, leaving skivies or underwear.
Kept try'n it, nothing worked. Sometimes got Lydia.. huh. But she is on the side ...DING. Heh.
removeallitems: takes everything off the person, they are locked out of thier own homes ..no key etc. You don't get the "stuff" either (v1.1) ..it all goes to the big bit bucket in the sky. Reload that area (city/tavern) and thier outfits are back, dunno about the rest. (Merchants still have thier inventory.)
(poteninaly could nuke quest items..ecK!)
player.removeallitems ..nukes yers! ha! Just incase you want to go back to nature and give up yer life or war, thievery and butcherin cute dragons. :)

It seems to me that there was something weird going on with your install of Skyrim. Because as far as I know, if you have no mods installed the only file you should see in the "Data Files" is the "Skyrim.esm".
Good to see you've got it sorted.

Thats interesting. I did note that I kept getting different ID tags even when clicking on the same spot sometimes. I'll have to check into that further to see if that's what is going on. Yeah, I'm definitely not using the player. commands when trying to mess with my NPC's. ;)
EDIT: Well I think you hit the nail on the head. I just tested it and when I click on Saadia in Whiteholm it comes up with a few different ID's and none of them are hers. So.... I don't know why i can't ever get hers up but at least I know what's going on now. I can click on the same spot on her and it brings up like 3 or 5 different ID's. Maybe if I go back and click on the ugly innkeeper a few times Saadia's will come up. Haha!
Thanks much for the input, I just got her's up just by clicking randomly around the screen. You just saved me a lot of frustration!. :) I'm glad I don't have to do this a lot because it would get tiresome having to lookup up everyones codes all day long. Although it was kinda funny when I realized I changed the innkeeper into an assassin.

Hi Joe, guess my install is fine. Weird for me is that with every FORCED patch Bethesda broke, what was working before. So to keep on playing that game I always rolled back to previous versions by replacing the updated files with 1.1 vanilla versions. But I did not delete the newer files in that folder, I renamed them. For rollback from1.2 that worked nicely, but now at 1.3 it looks like the renamed files will be loaded by the game engine, too.
So I learned now, that replaced files must be dropped into an external folder. So its sorted and game loads fine again.
I can't seem to get HaYDeN's

I can't seem to get HaYDeN's .9 fix and the 1.4LAA fix to work together.
Both of them work fine when run separately, .9 works, .3 before it was great, and then the 1.4 LAA fix works by itself, but when I try and run both... it crashes.
I'm running 3 monitors @ 5760x1080 off of a Sapphire 6950 2GB, with 8GB RAM, and a Core 2 Quad. On 1 monitor (1920x1080) at Ultra, while not running either patch, I get about 45-60 minutes of gameplay before CTD. Generally event triggered (ie. loading screen/fast travel, or attempting to take a screenshot). When running in eyefinity, it drops down to 10-15 minutes before CTD. When running in only 1 monitor, I've monitored RAM and CPU load, and it seems to crash after attempting to use more than 2GB of RAM (split roughly evenly between system and video RAM), hence my desire to use both patches...
Given that other people seem to be running HaYDeN's fix with the 4GB LAA Patch, I assume that I'm doing something wrong... any suggestions?
Edit: Also, I thought it would go without saying, but decided to add it just in case. HaYDeN's fix isn't outputting any errors. Standard 'Waiting... Found.. opened... injected... allocating... etc' messages. No output from the LAA patch. Even when run from command line.

I am running a very similar setup to you (same exact video card), but I am running an older 4GB LAA patch with no issues. I have uploaded it for you to try: (link removed)
Same deal as the others. Unzip the LAA patch into a directory somewhere. Start Hayden's 0.9 patch, click Inject patch. Start skyrim4gb.exe in the LAA patch folder and all should work. I found that on the very odd occasion, the game would not take the patch on load and your menu options would be on the right hand screen. I would close Skyrim, click Inject Patch again, and restart Skyrim via the 4GB LAA patch again and all is well. This is very rare but has happened maybe 3 times.

let me know if going back to Aussie's version helped you. I have a friend who has a similar configuration who was having a similar problem and we rolled back to the Nov 21st version of the LAA Patch and it seems to have fixed it. I'm curious though, what Catalyst drivers are you using? We upadate his Catalyst drivers to 11.11 as well, so I'm nto really sure which of the two fixed his problem but he doesn't seem to be crashing anymore. He has the Sapphire 6950 as well. I am running similar configurations as both of you but am running XFX 6950. One more thing. How much system memory do you have?

LOL even with all the bugs and non multi-monitor support I agree. I think I've spent as much time modifying my game, and helping other trying to get it running on their systems as playing it, but even when all that's done I'm still excited to log back in and kick a Dragon's butt.

Anyone else been having issues with 1.3/Hayden 0.9? I'm getting CTD's constantly now, mainly any time I go to Fast Travel off the map. Occasionally I'll see a red screen for the map, but all the map icons are fine. Almost every crash is either right when I say "Yes" to Fast Travel, or I load into the new location, take three steps and then CTD. This is new in 1.3/0.9 and I never had any problems up prior. I know I can roll back, but just want to see if anyone else is seeing the same issues.
I've also noticed a lot of texture issues with missing textures and such, but that could be a driver issue on my side.
Running 2 x Radeon 6950's with Catalyst 11.11c.

It seems with 0.9 Hayden Fix (though I think all of them were this way) that you can not click an NPC correctly in Console. Is anyone else having this issue? I had a problem with a quest, and had to do a command on an NPC but I could not select them. I had to change to 1920x1080, fix the quest, then change back.
