Skyrim Multi-Monitor User Interface Fix Discussion
off topic...beer
I'm San Diego, right around corner from Stone Brewery... yum, and Bevmo with my Heffe, Paulaner and Hopf, perfect for Skyrim or without...lol
I've left steam in offline
I've left steam in offline mode ever since I reverted to 1.1 and .4b. The game works fine for me with this config. I don't feel like testing 1.3 right now. :P

[quote]is it just me or is steam re-enabling the "keep this game up-to date" option on skyrim. I know for a fact I've disabled it twice already... yet low and behold this morning... it's turn on again and the game patched to 1.3.
not just you, bud. I wanted to play some Skyrim just now. Launched it up and instantly got a crash to desktop. Come to find I was patched to 1.3 and auto-update was turned back on. These mother truckers...
This is why despite purchasing a retail copy (the Collector's Edition no less) I decided to go the cracked EXE route. No Steam, no forced updates, I patch when I want to patch the game and avoid any potential issues. I was happily playing along on version 1.1 with an older version of Hayden's patch while everyone else got 1.2 forced down their throats and had to deal with the aftermath. Screw that.

I've tried to use Helifax's CT fix, specifically the one for 4320 x 900 that was part of the other gentleman's pack.
Don't know the current status of this method, as it's the first time i've tried it, but to no avail. Either it's just not doing anything with 1.3, or the ENBSeries shaders i'm using is overwriting the hotkeys.....but i'm really not even sure if i'm loading cheat engine and the 4320.CT file properly...???
anyone else tryin to use Helifax's fix w/1.3?
My tables are not updated...So they will not work. I managed to make the menus again on center screen but ofc the item size, position, books, map etc is screwed again... That is why I haven't posted an updated version. I didn't had the time yesterday to fix everything else....
Like Hayden said the best way now is to revert to 1.1/1.2 and wait until he posts his complete solution updated to 1.3:)

Im just about done - just trying to find a better way (again) to determine if the map is up, because currently it screws scrolls - when your in the maps and the scrolls too that bit gets set.

ETA 4 hours or there abouts, as per previous posts, in the meantime, reverting to 1.1 or 1.2 will obviously get you going again.
Donated again and worth every penny.

im with you on this one, i didnt say anything cause i didnt know if people would be like "HOW DARE YOU, GTFO OF OUR FORUMZ- RAWR!"
but with the grief we have been getting i did this like 50 pages ago
but i am still checking multi times a day following cause if everything ends up working great, and the patches dont break more than they fix, ill update and continue
yes, i know reference time in pages of this thread.
and on that note;
I remember the good ol days of the 30s (pages in the 30s that is), and im dating myself here, man do i feel old! Yep, back then when hayden was working diligently on his first release, teaser shots were surfacing, and helifax having just sprung his cheat engine fix, was frantically working and improving with each increment..
ahh those were the days, days that were much more worry-free. Days of just a hotkey or two making things right, always looking toward a beautiful horizen of hope..
Now we live in a word filled with patches and sadness, oh how things change *sigh*

love your work
I donated and will donate again to hopefully show you we really appreciae your work. I called Bethesda tech support inquiring about video support for 3 screens and htey acted like I was crazy. Like it did not work with Oblivion. I so detest teh fact that it was clearly ported over form an xbox. They have recently added dual core support for the pc so maybe there is hope. Can't wait for cration kit to get a decent interace.
Please continue your updates, it saves the game for me.
Respectfully,
Tony

Hello, I have been using
Hello,
I have been using Hayden's brilliant 0.8 UW fix and the 4Gb LAA launcher. I tried playing today, first time after the 1.3 steam update, and it launches the game briefly and then closes back to desktop. It did this when the 1.2 patch came out and updating to Hayden's 0.8 patch fixed it. So do I have to wait for Hayden's 0.9 patch to play? I am playing skyrim at 6000*1080 on a 5870.

you are correct, the patch
you are correct, the patch killed .8. hayden is working on another one and making progress.
6000x1080? thats some serious correction from 5760, 240 pixels is some serious business.

You can do what I did:Exit
You can do what I did:
Exit Steam.
Go to your Steam installation, common folder, right click on the skyrim folder, right click, go to Previous Versions, select a date before the patch, and click Restore.
Disconnect your internet connection, restart Steam, and play using whatever fix was working for you prior to the 1.3 update.
That's what I am doing, only using my phone for internet until it's fixed heh.

Phwew! I am glad I checked
Phwew! I am glad I checked WSGF before Steam had a chance to do it's dirty little update. I quit Steam, and have been playing offline. Tonight was my night to play for the week, and I sure am happy I didn't get Bethesda'd cheated out of some much-needed relaxation time in Skyrim!

I did that, thanks though.
I did that, thanks though. saving the 1.3 for when Hayden is ready, since it does fix bugs and has core 2 support.
The script extender people just released a 1.3 compatible version, and the 4 gig launcher still works.
Guys, I am not so sure Bethesda is doing something wrong . They are fxing bugs and adding features, which we want. It is not like they are breaking mods on purpose.
I am as anyone that we got a ported over version of the Xbox build complete with a ui made for a controller, but they are also adding what they need to like 4 gig support in the next patch (or shortly)
