I heard next week they are release another patch to fix the 2gb ram issue, guarenteed that will break any fix you are able to create for our current situatuon.
This is the biggest problem for sure. I wouldn't blame Hayden if he waited for the next patch to come out. It'd suck worse if that patch from Bethesda gets delayed.
I'm about done for the night - thought I'd post findings;
I did an uninstall then reinstall of Skyrim and allowed the update.
If trying to run the game in any variation of eyefinity, with or without 4GB LAA Fix or with or without any Hayden Fix, I still get these three errors - and maybe more (testing limited to time);
a, 'floating' NPCs - they glide along the floor in a fixed stance and with no walking animation.
b, pressing 'q' still brings up the 'quick' menu - it is unusable though and only allows exiting with 'q' or 'tab'.
c, cannot fast travel - click a site on map and map quits with no message at all.
When I turn monitors to either 'duplicates' or 'extended' game (1.3) runs fine as far as I can see both with and without 4GB LAA fix - no Hayden fix needed or used.
Beth seem to be on to ya Hayden! LOL. Either that or they are inadvertantly pouring petrol on to the flames of customer dissapointment in a futile attempt to quell them.
With my evening of relaxed gaming ruined, I have decided to shut PC down and retry the game in a few days. Thanks Beth!
is it just me or is steam re-enabling the "keep this game up-to date" option on skyrim. I know for a fact I've disabled it twice already... yet low and behold this morning... it's turn on again and the game patched to 1.3.
WOOOOO the TESV facebook saved my arse. I turn my computer off when i'm at work, and I noticed they said they released 1.3 today so when I get home, i'm unplugging my ethernet cable so I don't get raped by forced update. Might be a good idea for everyone to add them so you can get the heads up before they break it next time.
Also, I need some advice on my setup. I have crossfire and nothing I have tried has fixed scaling for me.
PhenomII x4 940BE oc'd to 3.4ghz
2x 6870, one in a 2.0 x16 and one in a 2.0 x4 (from what I read, this doesn't bottleneck the 2nd card by any more than like 4% compared to a 2.0 x8)
6gb ram at 800mhz ddr2 with tight timings
96gb ssd for os and skyrim
5788x1080 res
11.11c drivers
I get HORRENDOUS stutter (none in non cfx) out doors and indoors near light sources as well as input lag (also none in non cfx). Also, when I get the worst of the stutter, I also get sound stutter.
I have done massive testing to get CF to work with 2x6850. The only way to get positive scaling with these cards, is with certain settings in CCC, this highest settings for AA and AF.
When AA and AF are on ultra in the game, and CCC, you start to see positive scaling, but there is stutter, and the framerate is not great with 1920x1080, but playable.
The problem is that if you want a larger resolution or more fps and lower your AA settings, CF scaling disappears. So it really only useful for lower resolution scenarios where one wants more detail, not more fps.
Well, same here, unplayable... Bethesda keeps this up and HaYDens gonna need a salary not a donation! Really dumb.. I hate the way steam forces updates.. Even when you buy a hard copy, your forced. Not like older games you can choose to download update, or not... I feel like I have as much time in reading this forum as I have in on Skyrim. Im only lvl 23 in Skyrim, but Im probably lvl 45 on WSGF... smpt..

I've tried to use Helifax's CT fix, specifically the one for 4320 x 900 that was part of the other gentleman's pack.
Don't know the current status of this method, as it's the first time i've tried it, but to no avail. Either it's just not doing anything with 1.3, or the ENBSeries shaders i'm using is overwriting the hotkeys.....but i'm really not even sure if i'm loading cheat engine and the 4320.CT file properly...???

not just you, bud. I wanted to play some Skyrim just now. Launched it up and instantly got a crash to desktop. Come to find I was patched to 1.3 and auto-update was turned back on. These mother truckers...

HaYDeN, you rock man. Donation complete. Pony up everyone, without this guy our $60 game is worthless. (thanks bethshita) HaYDeN's paypal is on the bottom of the app, maybe he can quit his day job soon. :)
now get yourself a beer, relax... (( and release 0.9? )) :D
I am going to try disconnecting from the internet, restoring a previous version of the folder, and seeing if I can play offline until this issue is fixed.... again.

Ha, it worked. Playing on 1.2 using Hayden's 0.7 patch. I'll have to reassemble my laptop to use the net for a while, or keep using my phone like now.
You should be able to find my all-time favorite IPA: Dogfish-head 90 Minute Imperial IPA.
My coworker bought me a pint of that last week. Its great beer if you are the kind of person who enjoys a swift kick in the face. I swear that beer was 50% hops.
