I just did a res hack for 5760x1080 for a friend, waiting for him to tell me if it worked. I should try 5760x1200 on my computer and see how it runs and looks.

Is FOV automatic or do we need hack/edit that also?

can you please tell me what to replace to get 5760x1200?

I replaced 8002 with 6801 and E001 with 3804.

I know that in HEX 5760 is 1680 but for some reason prototype uses some kind of inverter.....

someone please help tried 5h getting this game to work...........

Hex edits can be done with little knowledge but some attention is required... Take the time to read the solution carefully ;)

The "inverter" is Little Endian, you have to move two digits at a time.
For 5760x1200:
Width: 5760 (dec) is 1680 (hex) which must be written 80 16 in the file.
Height: 1200 (dec) is 04B0 (hex) which must be written B0 04 in the file.

So the part that by default reads:
80 02 00 00 e0 01 00 00

Should now read:
80 16 00 00 b0 04 00 00

Mmm no, i think its :

68 01 would be the formatted value of 0168 (hex) which is... 360 (dec).

This game uses the format i posted, im sure about it.
Check my dll for 5040x1050 :

According to your theory, it should be b0 13 00 00 00 1a 04 .

Okay so up to and including 4095 the hexadecimal format will be...

0xXYZ

You move X to the back. And X is always led by a 0 to make a pair. So...

YZ 0X

For anything 4096 and higher the hexadecimal format will be...

0xWXYZ

You move W to the back, And since Z makes a pair with W there is no added 0.

???

At least that is how I think it is working. Maybe it is just the game or maybe it is universal. We don't have any other hex editing solutions in resolutions higher than 4095 that I can think of.

Volunteers?

Fortunately, it's not what happens. 8)
The good old "pair swap" works the same for 3840, 4320 or 5040. There is no '4096 and higher' to worry about. 5040 reads 'B013' in the file.
But !
When the game detects any "abnormal" resolution value in the dll, it will run at the current desktop resolution. That's why thales100 can use funny values and still play at 5040 !

I fiddled with a number of display widths, here's what I got:

1) 3840x800
3840 (dec) is 0F00 (hex).
'000F' works.
'00F0' results in 5040x1050 (my native res).

2) 4320x900
4320 (dec) is 10E0 (hex).
'E010' works.
'0E01' results in 5040x1050.

3) 5040x1050
5040 (dec) is 13B0 (hex).
'B013' works.
'3B01' appears to work... but it's actually a "wrong value, let's use the desktop res" situation.

The ultimate hex edit for Prototype:

Replace the whole "resolution field" with 9999s and the game will run at your desktop res. That's right, it'll always run at your *current* desktop resolution - this fix is not even limited to your native res alone !!
