I very much doubt it ... sorry buddy ... :(

Don't be put off though this game is incredible ... even if you have to turn things down I don't think you will be disappointed.

... and a new patch coming soon should help ... 8)

Well, i don't know about that. They have a X360 vs PC comparison and a Oblivion performance test at Gamespot in wich you can see really good what happens when you turn down the settings.
Especially when you turn down distant lands and viewing distance the game becomes incredibly foggy.

You can see for yourself over here and here.

Oh yeah ... I should have mentioned the fog ... sorry ...

But what I meant was that the gameplay is incredible and even if I had to have the fog I would still say it is a stunning game ...

Totally true. It really is a good game, but i can't stand bad looks when i know a game can look way better.
Therefore i just had to mention the fog. :D

No worries ... you were right to mention it ...

I hate the fog too ... but Oblivion with fog is better than no Oblivion at all ...

Hi everybody,

I'm a young newbie in widescreen games, so I have a question I didn't find the answer. Oblivion is 4/3 or 16/10 ratios compatible, but I wondered whether the game could run in a real 16/9 resolution (like 1280*720 or 1920*1080) as most videoprojectors display.

Thanks in advance :D,

Georges A.

It should support every resolution your gfx can output right of the box according to the devs.

Ok, thank you.

However, when launching the game, only the more usual resolutions are proposed in the "options" field : how could I do to set the resolution I want (1280*720) which isn't present in that usual resolutions list ?

Georges.

If the res can be used as a desktop res in Windows, it should be available in the res options of Oblivion... :)

Thanks for the impressions guys, really got me interested in the game. Quick and simple question - my specs are listed below: can anyone with similar specs comment on how the game runs on your system (and preferably running it on 16:10)?

Seriously considering getting this now but might hold off a while until i upgrade my system in a few months...

I ran it on a slightly slower box, and I had to turn the res down to 1280x800 to get it smooth at high settings, otherwise it was OK. You might be able to play at 1680x1050... 2GB of RAM certainly helps, at least when it comes to loading times...

I think the best thing of the game is that little shit that keeps following you around making his comments whenever you do something.

That kid cracks me up.

One thing I wanna know is why I can't select 1280x800 on my 2405 and 7900GTX. I wanna see if dropping the resolution makes any kind of difference in framerate but I can't see that resolution even though on my old machine (same monitor and a 6800GT) I had that as an option and all the ones the 7900GTX shows. Wtf?

Can you choose 1280x800 as desktop res on your current configuration?

I've got 1152x864 in windows, but not in Oblivion... I just wanna try it out in that resolution roughly to see if the FPS goes up significantly.

Weird, they specifically said that Oblivion supports every res your video card supports..if it shows up in windows it should show up in Oblivion.

W00t, got it working... :)
And it doesn't effect my FPS much at all by turning down the resolution, if anyone cares.
