I have.

Usually for EA-era Command and Conquer games. They like playing with the unit balance. A lot. A unit can suddenly get two or three times harder or easier to kill, depending on how they feel at the time. :(

Blizzard do the same thing, but rarely to such wild extremes. They usually tweak stuff gently, so it's not a massive shift in the flow of gameplay.

Something like that would make you NOT upgrade though?

I would update and then read the patch notes to find out info like that and adjust to it, whether its a forced update or not.

I'm loving this game. After playing only cs:s online for years, this is great. Not sure I can take a month of this map though. :)

would love to have another spawn point past the third objective so the map could be reversed. Would basically double the number of maps with little effort.

Also, went down from 5760.1080 to 1920.1080/single monitor for a bit to see the difference and found it unplayable after 'learning' it on eyefinity :). I lasted maybe 5 minutes before switching back

poorformance testing

ended up forcing dx9 and getting a nice 30% bump in fps. much much smoother. /killing machine

cAN YOU elaborate a bit more where that folder is, and what the file is called exactly? No settings.* in any directory for me.

EDIT: Found it under /My Documents folder.

I'll definitely check that out. Is that the only in game tweak you've made?

Tested this last night. The load time for the rounds is SOOO much faster.

Yeah, everything just seems mo better with dx9 running. Sorry, didn't see your previous question. This was the only change I made. Can't wait for the release. I don't want to be stuck on 11 for another 3+ weeks :?

Me too.. suffering withdrawal symptoms. According to STEAM I put 60 hours in the BETA (plus about 15 or 20 each in the XBox Demo and PS3 BETA!)

Tried AvP last night, quiet house dark room. Atmospheric, yep, Graphics, good enough... enagaing enough? Nope... I even desperately went back to BF2 and that was a single screen no destruction FAIL. Went to bed :?

Day 1 map pack will feature 2 new maps: Nelson Bay in Rush and Laguna Alta in Conquest. Gonna be interesting to see how Nelson Bay plays out, despite it being a night map. Check the video~

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-XD8lJUv8g

Despite they are releasing new maps on Day 1, I question if they'll continue to do so after the game, and how many they plan to do it until they ditch it to move on. With no modding tools (as of yet), it'll be tough to make the game last long beyond the normal support.

There is another map pack to be released in March. Since I put 60 hours on the PC alone onto one map (and seeing that things like Karkand, jelalabad and wake are pretty much the only played BF2 maps left) I reckon it will last me until BF3 :)

If ppl don't do these things, they are noobs. No arguments whatsoever. Great video, but not very informative for anyone that has played or plays BC2.

Want. To. Play.

Time killer. How are people mapping their keys? I know it's all personal preference, but am still curious. I get 'set in my ways' and a bit narrow minded and would be interested in hearing things that work for others that may end up working for me.

Here are my mappings:

I don't have the latest mouse (yet) but on my G5...

left tilt = weapon slot #3
right tilt = weapon slot #4
forward thumb button = knife
back thumb button = grenade

That's all I can care on mapping. I don't have a fancy keyboard and I don't use a whole lot of fancy functions to make it easier to reach. Plus it's one less hardware to bother with when I have the main keyboard in front of me. :)

hmmm, I like your right-tilt left-tilt usage, may have to try that. but really hoping (and sure it is) that the next/prev weapon works properly in the release.
