For people crashing out when they alt-tab, are you really crashing?
That is a dumb question, but when I alt-tab, and try to tab back in it appears to be hung; blank window, no mouse since it has been grabbed by TESV.exe, sometimes after a minute it will go back to full screen, but not always. If I did not have as much time behind a computer as I do I would say it was hung and force close it.
What I do is tab back out, which works, I have to move my mouse to the task bar to see it and click to get normal mouse control back on top of the window TESV creates, then I click on the TESV window or alt-tab back to TESV. The game goes back to full screen and works normally. I have not crashed from alt-tabbing at all since release.
This is with Nvidia SLI GTX275's with 280.19 drivers. I have not updated to the encrypted .exe, and am LAA.
Tab to Skyrim, and it'll be a black screen with the windows boarder. Then tab to Skyrim A SECOND TIME and it will work. You have to Alt+Tab to Skyrim twice in a row.

I'm running 5916x1200 bezel corrected on 2x 570s and get 50-60fps with everything ultra with the exceptions - radial blur off, 2x AA, fshadowdistance=3000
Could it be an underreported SLI issue? If you disable one card, do you get the crash? Well I suppose that now you've fixed it theres no way to test it out.
I can't wait for the radeon crossfire fix, so I can get decent frames on all ultra.

i have the exact same thing. its like this right out of the box. any alt tab takes 2 trys. the first one just shows me a window border of the game, the second actually takes me into the game
I just tried it to fix the constant CTD issue and it worked. What's really odd is that when I tab out it shows the Skyrim application using 1024MB of system ram, not even 2GB, or more... but it fixes my constant CTD issue (every 10-30 minutes).
System RAM + Video RAM
Ahh, this makes a lot more sense now. I was wondering why ram usage was only at 1GB but this clears that up, thanks, c69.

If I disable one card, no more Nvidia surround ;) Yes, that would fix it! haha, j/k of course.

We can test the achievement issue relatively quickly. Cinnabuns, if you reach lvl 25 and no achievement pops, then we know its been disabled. Let us know how it goes!
Well, this is just ducky. Bethesda doesn't want us to break the game with our workarounds, so they lock down the executable. I guess they realize that they're doing enough to break the game on their own, and don't need our help.
I'm on the negative since this LAA thing, because every CTD potentially loses my last quicksave and possibly the autosave to the buffer. They get corrupted. That means repeating up to 30 minutes of gameplay with EACH crash. This makes me not want to play anymore. Haven't played in 24 hours after losing my last quicksave point. I'm taking my ball and going home.
When the quicksave is corrupted, no amount of F5 spamming will save you.
Thanks for the link for the new LAA hook. I'll try it later... I'm too angry to even bother playing Skyrim tonight. Are you listening Bethesda? Probably not hearing a thing under the ching-ching of all the console sales... enough to make the quarter million PC copies sold before release seem like chump change- but we're the chumps here.

It seems the new patch for the 4GB memory allocations breaks 3D Vision..since the game is loaded using a different exe name and no 3D Vision profile is being loaded.... Still looking for a workaround for this

What is it being loaded as, FONV.exe? There seems to be a way to set Stereo settings from Inspector if we know the EXE name.

I would think you can use a 3rd party prog to change the profile in NVCP for that 4gb LAA to use the 3d setting from Skyrim? I have not messed with this myself but I saw something earlier when it came to using FONV file for something but I can't remember what it was. I will try to find it but that's what I am thinking.
