Updated Borderlands

Updated Borderlands module.

- Changed WeaponFOV fix to codecave instead of unreliable pointers, if crashing STILL persists, disable the HUD fix (Read: untick "HUD Scaling")
this is the last remaining pointer based modification, if this (HUDFix) proves to be the root cause another method will need to be used.

Quite chuffed now seanstar? I doubt it.

Oh wow... I got so excited when I saw that this exists... I really hope I can get it working. A couple questions:

1. I updated my plugins but when I start tribes it still says that the 1.0.980 version of tribes is "unknown" -- it also doesnt show up in the game version combo box.

2. I have been unable to get this to work at all as of yet so let me describe my set up in general and maybe you can tell me if this program is even what I need.

I have three monitors hooked up to two GeForce GTX 460's in my comp. When I launch the game the status text at the bottom of the tribes plug in tab says that it has found the process but the display resolution is only 1920x1080, Monitors 1x1, NVIDIA GeForce GTX460 on .DISPLAY3Monitor0 and the game plays normally only on my center screen.

The status tab shows the following:

- Found NVIDIAN Device: GeForce GTX 460 (1)
- Found NVIDIAN Device: GeForce GTX 460 (1)
! - NVIDIA Debug: (Second Call) GetDisplayConfig() - Result: -5, Success=False
- Found Generic Device NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
- Display Detected, Res: (X: 1920, Y: 1080), AR: 1.778, Displays: 1
- Found Generic Device NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
- Display Detected, Res: (X: 1920, Y: 1080), AR: 1.778, Displays: 1
- Found Generic Device NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
- Display Detected, Res: (X: 1920, Y: 1080), AR: 1.778, Displays: 1
- Preferred Display .DISPLAY3Monitor0 connected to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460

If I go to Settings -> Config -> Display Detection and override specifying 5760x1080 etc the game runs but still only on the center monitor with everything FOV'd for three monitors.

I hope this helps as I am really excited about getting this to work. Thanks for your help in advance.

-Patrick

I'll investigate this for you tomorrow.

Has there been any official word on if blizzard allows this fix for Diablo 3? Has anyone been ban for using this fix? Does this also fix the shop and inventory windows by centering it to the middle screen? Thanks in advance!

I've been using FWS for awhile now but recently I've been getting an Appcrash error whenever I try to open the .exe

Code: Select all

Problem signature:

I've updated the Visual C++ redistributable and have tried a SFC /scannow to try and fix the fault dll (msvcrt.dll), but nothing has been working. Anyone else have this problem?

The Executable has not

The Executable has not changed in some weeks now, you could try navigating to the Flawless Widescreen folder in Program Files (assuming you installed it) and delete the PluginCache and Plugins folder, maybe there is a bung file or something

The PluginCache and Plugins

The PluginCache and Plugins folder haven't been created in my Flawless Widescreen directory.

I've tried reinstalling FWS as well and I still haven't found a fix for it.

c0000005 is a access

c0000005 is a access violation, basically accessing a address that doesn't exist - about as much as I can tell you without a stack trace.

I trust you have c++ Redistributable 2010 installed? Typically it would not cause the error your receiving anyway, additionally running as Administrator?

I don't see anything around that exception offset in the debugger of interest.

I have both 2008 and 2010

I have both 2008 and 2010 installed, with both 64 bit and 32bit versions and I'm running the .exe as administrator. That's why I'm so confused, it was working about 3-4 days ago then stopped suddenly. When attempting to run the program with Task Manager open it shows FlawlessWidescreen.exe appear for a few seconds then disappear with a the error message about appcrash.

When the error appears Start

When the error appears Start TaskMgr.exe, select the process tab, select FlawlessWidescreen.exe while it is still displaying the crash dialog. Right-click it and Create Dump File and find a way to get it to me.

It says Access is Denied when I try to create a dump file for flawlesswidescreen.exe, it doesn't deny access when I try to create a dump file for other processes.

Something isn't right with your environment, the only possible thing I could think of is something anti-virus related. Have you tried disabling it? there are a couple of aspects of Flawless Widescreen that some really really aggressive antivirus programs may detect as 'undesirable' (typical with any memory manipulation tool) - other than this I can't really think of anything else that would produce the symptoms.

It does absolutely nothing other than allow you to launch at fullscreen resolution without it being windowed - Only reason I bothered releasing it was because I found sometimes it would get locked at 30fps and other such silly things with it in windowed mode, I've played for the last week or so without being banned - but by no stretch of the imagination should you take that as confirmation as it being safe, we're talking about Blizzard here, altho by the same token I'm not really _expecting_ to be banned.

I've disabled my AV and it wasn't able to launch. I'll try a few more things to see if I can get the program running. Thanks for your help Hayden, i'll let you know if I get it working.

Thanks HaYDeN for the reply. I do not think I have been locked at 30 FPS yet at least going off of Fraps and the ingame fps, but it would help to have that option of going Fullscreen. Thanks!

Just a quick question, does anyone know why Alice Madness Returns was dropped off the support list for this since the new release?
I bought Alice in the sale recently and was suprised we didn't have a fix on here, either using flawless or widescreen fixer.

That said, I did manage to download the old flawless and it works fine with the origin release... no cracked version needed. So just wondering why it's not supported now.

I re-did the fix properly for the new Flawless Widescreen but there is protection in Alice that detects changes to the code and terminates.

The old fix used a more "archaic" and brute method to do it, I could simply put that back in FWS if it seems to work.

I'll re-add it in the next day or two.

Yeah, just to confirm, using the standard Origin install of Alice, no cracks at all, and played about 3 hours so far it seems to work without issue. The menu screen is a little odd on the outer monitors but it's perfectly fine.

thanks
