This is really good news. I really hope it stops the CTDs - if it also stops that momentary hang between clicking "enter battle" and actually joining the game then even better!

[quote]Crap! I was so excited when i saw this but then quickly let down when i saw it isnt compatible with the steam version. :(

If you are planning on buying BF3 you may as well DL Origin. I deleted BC2 from Steam and DL on Origin to test out R11.

Oh yeah I guess the same CD key could be used to link your game to origin instead ... I've heard of others doing this as well.

I just caught wind of this... it's about damn time! Good to hear that they're fixing the crashing issues with multi-monitor gaming or high-FOV setups. It's been much too long to tackle this issue.

Not a bad idea to migrate to Origin since BF3 will be using it. But I dunno... I feel that it's terrible that I have to install another distribution platform to play it. I'd give the beta patch a try but I'm very reluctant to even bother. I guess I'll wait patiently 'till the whole thing is live and Steam updates the game for me.

It's also a pity that we don't have enough multi-monitor players to test this patch out. I wonder how many of those who post regularly on the EAUK forums are also on here with their Eyefinity/Surround setup. We're pretty fragmented since we got players on Steam (like me) and others via retail and/or Origin.

I dont play BC2 anymore so I find it hard to devote time to testing R11 so I didnt want to post a feedback because I only played a couple hours.
I just set up my surround for BF3 so I was just testing it on R10 and I played only twice and the game crashed the first time and then I got the WSOD the second time.
I have high confidence that we wont have much problems with BF3 because it wont be a console port like BC2 is.

Haven't had any crashes so far, but there are only about 5 servers running r11 and maybe 10 people online playing. It's not a fool proof stress test to say the least. I hope they roll this out soon. Vanilla BC2 in eyefinity rocks.

The BFBC2 R11 update has been officially released as of 12:30 -7GMT. I sure do Hope this update stops the random C2D that drive me insane looking for answers. If not I sure will not get BC3. I'll try and let everyone know if this update actually works or not.

I BSOD'd after about an hour. Not looking so great so far. I would think a BSOD is worse than a CTD. Will need to test some more on stock settings.

CTD and BSOD are different. BSOD sounds like a system issue.

It didnt say. I have BSOD a total of 4 time now. I am going to uninstall the game and do a reinstall. Maybe there was an issue when the patch was installed. BTW I am switched to Origin from Steam to test the beta patch and I had no issues in the beta. But the servers were always empty when I tested. I am going to search some forums and see if this is common.

Before you do try to get the error. It should say at the top of the blue screen in the left hand side. Also you should get the error when you restart windows.

I think that file is related to the memory management directX.

So far so good. I jumped on and played about a 2 hour session on =L1S= server. No issue and no crash (yet). Still too early to tell but at the very least, I did not crash. Jacking up the visual details up to max is great. It's great to be able to run it at high details again. Maxed out all the settings, set anisotropic filtering to 16x, anti-aliasing to 4x, turned bloom off, vsync on, everything was butter smooth.

Thank goodness all this is fixed up. It's been way too long and it's a long time coming.

I had it crash again C2D. I played all day with no problems with R11 I have retail version. Than I used steam to talk to my friends and about 14mins in a game it C2D with steam running as non-steam game so I get the nice gui. So i figure that steam is breaking it or it's not actually fixed yet. :(

Due to how I set up my keybinds, I had the Steam overlay disabled entirely. It's a bit of a setback but I can live without it. I could change the keybind for the Steam overlay itself.... but that would screw up the other games that I have.

Ahh great, BC2 finally fixed now theres only a few days to go until i ditch BC2 for BF3 beta.. typical.

Edit:
Ive just had a 4 hour session of BC2, it froze when i hit the print screen key a 3rd time, like 2-3 seconds after the last.
