Hey

i cant get my system to run 5040 X 1050 the wizard show it avaliable but when i select it my screens come up with "OUT OF RANGE"

im am running

Geforce GTX 285
vista 32bit
driver 181.22
latest power desk
and 3 X CHIMEI 221D's

please Help, i want to throw my entire system out the window......... :x :x

Out of Range is a pretty straight forward way of saying that the refresh rate is not supported. AKA 57hz will not work.

You will probably have to go down to a resolution that uses 60Hz.

I need to know what resolution I can hope to achieve on a

Samsung 305T LCD.

It's a 30 inch monitor with a native res of 2560x1600.
Now I realize there's not enough bandwidth being pushed out of the system to achieve that res on each seperate screen.

But I am hoping to at least get the 1680x1050x3 at 57hz

I need to know if that resolution is achievable.

anyone know?

Thanks in advance.

3 x1680x1050 is the most you will get; cant see why you monitor wont run it but you can check for your self with 1 monitor by setting a custom resolution.

Samsung 2433BW...

When I attempt to force resolution to 5040x1050, the monitors will go into the resolution the first time after installing PowerDesk SE. When you check that status on the monitor menu though, each one is in 1680x1050 at 48hz rather than 57hz (as entered). After about 30 seconds, the screens go black with the window recommending a 1920X1200 60Hz resolution. You can press the Menu button to return the screen, but the black screen will come back 30 seconds later.

I attempted to remove and manually enter the Customer Resolutions, but they keep coming back as Failed Test, even though it didn't even attempt to test the resolution.

Anyone else working with Samsung 2433BWs?

They support 56-75Hz, so I need to find out why they drop down to 48Hz when going into 5040x1050 mode with TH2Go.

I heard Riva has a way to force resolutions as well. Anyone know anything about that?

When I set up the beta powerdesk, I'm using samsung 2253BW's and they drop down to 50 hz when running the wizard. Then it says "an error has occurred". No idea

Known Working:

Got the Samsung 2433BWs working. Had to downgrade to GeForce 175.19 drivers.

As for Samsung 305T, I can't find any specs with detailed refresh rates. I would suggest contacting Samsung (as I did before I bought my 2433BWs) and ask if the montior supports 1680x1050 at 57Hz (they'll most likely tell you the picture won't fit, but that's not an issue as long as the monitor will actually display a picture).

I'm dying to know if the samsung 305T will support 1680x1050 at 57hz
I NEED to know.
I'll try that and keep you posted. However as far as I know you CANNOT connect the 305T to TH2G and get it to display anything at any res, I already tried that to no avail. :(

For me that sounds like this model IS working. Being unable to setup a 5040x1050 display with monitors that can run at 57 Hz individually means the monitors are not to blame ;)
Are you in Vista ? Did you try older nvidia drivers ?

Many thanks for the excellent forum and information, guys.. just contributing something back after many years of lurking.

KNOWN WORKING
LG FLATRON W2452V

Brought one to test then went back and got another. Detected 57Hz and displayed with no problems. This is a 24" 1920x1200 monitor. It was a lot cheaper than the Samsung 2443BW and looks almost exactly the same as the older model 2433BW from the outside except for branding. I wonder if it comes from the same factory?? Also plays cute musical beeps when you play with the on-screen menu and turn it off and on.

I had many other initial setup problems but they were mostly due to Vista64 and crappy Nvidia/GXM software, same as everyone else.

My setup..

LG W2454V + DELL 2405FPW + LG W2454V

Also, I think I may have a problem with my TH2GD, I have a small annoying "shimmering red" effect on black color areas in dual monitor 2850x1200x60hz mode.

No visble problems in 5040x1050x57hz or any other mode, so its not a big deal.

I've swapped outputs from the DELL and LG and both monitors display the same symptoms so it must be TH2GD.

Anyone else experience this? Seems to be more pronounced on Monitor out 1.

NON-WORKING
Sceptre X20WG-NAGAII

Though tested @ 1680 x 1050 @55hz and @57hz on a single display, When all 3 hooked up to the TH2G is a no go. 3840 x 1024 is all that it will do with the image looking right. The OS shows 55hz and 57hz when in single display but with the TH2GO the OS shows 60hz only. I set the res @ 5040x1050 @57hz in Nvidia's controle panel and I get 3 black screens  Yes everything is up to date, Tried 178.16 drivers and up to 182.08. Ive got to be doing something wrong or the single display test is not fool proof.

This site and some others have been a big help but it would be nice to see a "Sticky" Step by step on how to get the TH2Go up and running in some kind of order with all the tricks added and one place!!.

Hello,

Problem Model:

Sceptre X22wg-Naga
Sceptre x22HG

Sceptre Tech support said that no 22 inch monitors support the 57hz refresh rate.

Also i am looking for 3 - 24" wide screens to upgrade to that support the 1680x1050 and look good anyone know any? I will be buying in the next 2 weeks.

Acer tech support sucks at answer questions btw, They just regurgitate the Marketed specs.

I have successfully tested the Samsung SyncMaster 2243BWX at 1680x1050@57Hz in a single monitor setup. I have not been able to test 3 of them on a TH2G as I don't have 3 of them. lol

EDIT: one thing though is that when changing to this refresh rate or when coming out of standby mode or whatever, you will get the following message:

Not Optimum MOde
Recommended Mode: 1680x1050 60Hz

But if you just touch the 'Menu' button on the monitor, it goes away :)

Can anyone else confirm that this monitor works on TH2G??
