I think I can do 7x1 landscape too
all depend if softTH can run on 3 gpus or maybe second gpu with 4xDVI

at least second gpu + matrox triplehead but then I need spend extra $$ for matrox unit, but i dont want,
I want just doing it by cheapest way 8)

so then main lcd 5040x1050 (3) and sides 2x 3360x1050 (2)

so 11760x1050

i tried this and failed. What setting are you using?

My setup. All Screens are at 1080p on desktop. But I was trying to do 720p during game play.

8400x1050 @ DX9
WORKS

 :rockout

Hrrrm, interesting. Running EyeFinity on the center 3 and SoftTH on the outer 2?

I'm curious, could you run DXCapsView like I posted earlier in the thread? Noone has actually ran DXCapsView yet on the EyeFinity cards. I'd like to definitely see what they show instead of us always taking second hand info as fact on the 8k limitation.

yes
main screen (1) is 3three physical lcds on desk to eyefinity group and sides are plugged to game by SoftTH

about settings?
plug and play

I am using win7 pro (I think 32 bit)
hd5770 gpu with stock drivers from CD (but now hd5850 works too)
2gb ram

only problem is - 4 monitors are mine and 1 I needed borrow from brother for test
so every time when I unplugged/plugged any lcd, I needed to make setting eyefinity group and from begining (but for one time configuration its not a problem obviously)

edit///
of course buying 5870 eyefinity card will be better then softTH, bcoz SoftTH @ lcds work 30% slower than eyefinity @ 3 lcd, in DIRT2

dont have time to test in other games for now but in other thread I saw eyefinity do SoftTH comparasions

edit2///

It's a utility that is bundled with the DirectX SDK that shows capabilities of video card hardware.

i checked but when I open display modes, windows close program :(

anyway

with 2xaa + low detail I can play comfortable with weak cpu and stock hd5850 card so not bad
pics and screen without AA, i just on them later

field of view, of course yes
in comparasion 3 and 5 lcd, when I switch back to 3 lcd from 5 is looks weird lol
5x 22" FTW :D

now is 1 + 3 + 1 in widnows 7 (eyefinity +sofTH)

when I receive i7 cpu I can check 2+1+2 (SoftTH only) on 3 gpus  (in w7 or XP)

if this configuration will work I think I can do 7x1 landscape and 11760x1050 res (11:1 ratio)
without using special 5870 eye-6 from ATI

nevermind i found it -

6000 x 1920 = 25:8 Aspect Ratio - 5x1 1920x1200 Portrait Monitors

5760 x 2400 = 12:5 Aspect Ratio - 3x2 1920x1200 Monitors

im so bad with math, is 25:8 wider than 12:5??

thanks in advance, i know 1 + 1 = 2.

EDIT: i meant 5760x1200. would 6000x1920 ratio be wider than 5760x1200???

6000/1920 = 3.125

Higher number = wider.

5760/2400 = 2.4 (similar to 2x5:4 or 2560x1024)

main gpu is hd 5850 now (funny is that I made new win7 x64 instal now and with stock sapphire drivers from cdrom eyefinity NOT work, after that I take cd from 5770 gpu and after install this drivers, eyefinity works)
second gpu can be even uber low end HD1xxx gpu for SoftTH (I can use 8400GS or HD5770 bcoz i have both of this and for both ati card I can use the same drivers but performance will be very similar, only reason I want use ati cards is no mess in OS)

tommorow I will try make 6 monitor setup (10080x1050) with 3 gpus overall
I want to make 3x extended desktop 3360x1050 each
If this will work even 9 monitor setup will be possible by 3x ati 5xxx card (eyefinity + softTH)

I thought ATIs Eyefinity cards would be a great advantage for SoftTH users because with useMultihead=1 you don't have to care about PCIe bandwidth anymore.
This assumption was wrong. A lot of people report that SoftTH only works with Eyefinity if useMultihead is diabled.

So I got DiRT to kinda work in 6400x720, but the 3D was all kinda messed up. I'm gonna give up on this until the 5876 is out.
