Does Quad-card Crossfire work with Eeyefinity (6 screens?)

Hey guys,

I'm not asking this to boast, i might actually get a chance to build this setup for a customer. However, i have googled my a$$ off trying to confirm the question below:

Will a Quad-Card Crossfire setup (four of these cards on a UD9 board) work with a 6-screen eyefinity setup?

EDIT: i'd just like to add that performance and effectivity of four cards is not really an issue. I'm just wondering if it will work at all.

If i google, i find mainly discussions about quad-crossfire using dual 5970 cards. As usual, the AMD site is one slow stinking swamp of nothing helpful (EDIT: ok, that might be a bit too harsh, let's just leave it at frustrating ;)).

Gan you guys confirm the workings of this setup?

For those people that came to this thread googling, i have since gotten an answer in PM from Delphium:

In answer to your question, yes the UD9 + 4x 5870 E6 cards will work in quadfire, however the performance scaling is not that great due to the driver and application profile support.
It has been known for some applications to run slower when using quadfire, some even slower when using crossfire.
So although it does work, dont expect to get great scaling out of it unfortunately.
