Uh, nope. Supposed to be out in two more days :?
An official demo should be released today though, and I'm eagerly awaiting it.

Edit: official demo is out. C'mon Eyefinity guys, time to share some triple-screen DX11 greatness

I've got it, it came with my Asus 5870. Downloaded (Steam) and installed it. Played a bit yesterday. It's ok, kinda seems geared to a console crowd. I did the first race, liked it. Graphics are good. I'm running DX 11. Single screen only, sorry.

I set everything in the game to max and it runs well on my rig.

Surround media is not all we're interested in ;) so feel free to post some "single-screen" shots !
DX11 water & flags and a 4:3/ws comparison would be awesome, too...

I bought the game as a D/l from steam. Took ages to D/L....
The game found my graphis settings and set everything to run well. I am getting about 40-50 FPS out of 2x GTX280's on an Asus P6T6 i7 940 6gig/ram with TH2go Dig, 3x 22, win 7 and a G25. res 1430 (??) x900. In game ratio is set to normal, AAx4 everything else on high

Firstly I am a online racer, so the game intro and navigation has an arcadey/console feel which I personally dont like. Also alot of the selectable car prefrences are basic and minimal as was Dirt. The "man, you were untouchable in that race" commentary again, isnt to my personal taste, nor is the put a stupid toy on the dash option of any interest to me, again, aimed at what Ken block does and the younger market....

This marketing/fanfare stuff aside, the game plays well with graphics, incar detail, scenery etc all looking very nice(DX10 I assume). As for reality, I cant say for sure as there are not many rally sim/games on the market for PC of late to gauge it by. But from a driving perspective I like it. Rally (and all its derivatives) are a new challenge and I like that. The ability the change set ups, as mentioned, is basic, but able to be noticed. Although,(and I am sure this is me) I named a set up and got stuck in a loop of that name exists, ok, that name exist, ok...... until I had to use alt-tab-delete to close the program and exit the game..... hmmmm.

I am not a fan of not having a mouse to move/navigate through selections for a PC, but I can live with that, although I race with a purpose built cockpit, so a keyboard is not something that is always at hand.

As for car selection/content, I havnt progressed that far yet, but it looks ok, although, at first glance Dirt seemed to offer more cars (different eras) which was nice, and maybe more different types of events, but it seems ok so far.

One thing that I would like to see is the ability to adjust driver seating position, forward/back/up/down. This is something I miss that is most racing sim/mods.

Whilst this does all sound a bit negative, its not meant to be. For the little I have played the game, I am enjoying its game play as a driver and the great graphics/eyecandy and will enjoy playing it in the racing off season for something different. :D

So am i correct in thinking these Dirt 2 vouchers from ATI are for Steam-only, and not retail copies?

The menu system gets VERY monotonous after the first dozen races. Would rather seen all that effort put into more courses to race on.

Lack of mouse and proper varied PC controller support is inexcusable in today's games. See official forums for hordes of controller issues. Hey, at least the mouse works in crappy GFWL which no one wants.

While not very accessible, the camera view points are easily edited.
Before

After

Overall, it is a fun, well done PC game worthy of $40 but it's console roots pop out too often and could of been better. Guess maybe we'll have to wait 6 months like Grid to get a good patch.

Btw, yes the ATI Dirt2 vouchers are Steam only.

This is my favorite game right now, I love it. Eyfinity + Logitech Momo wheel.

After ajusting the control settings and bit of experience under my belt things drive like a dream. Im lvl 30 in single player right now and just a tad over half way through the game. The 1 player mode is longer on this game than 2 or 3 other titles I have played recently put together.

Online seems to work pretty well, though people on there are so good! Its almost inhuman how well the majority of people I have raced do in this game leaving me little hope of winning a race.

Destroy, could you explain where you edited the files. I am looking to sit a little closer, but have a wider FOV pls.
Thanks
Mike

As a side note, it doesnt seem to matter where the FF is set to, there is consistant vibration on the wheel (as you would expect in a rally game), making a G25 (with noisey gearing) provide plenty of noise..... Not good if someone else is trying to watch TV or sleep.....

Also after reading through thier forums some point of interest are-

If you cant edit player profile and are stuck in/as player one..... unplug controller, then update your profile then re-plug in controller, seems to work for some
- Game is DX9 and 11 supported not 10. Vista SP2 and win 7 will allow 11 to work, if your GFX card doesnt support 11, it will use the components of 11 that your card will support, and obviously, not the rest untill you get a DX11 supported card.

Just thought it might be helpful to know
Mike

Its simply the FOV and position value in the cameras.xml files for each car. You'll need the special Dirt1 xml converter to open then repack them.
