What have you tried? Are there any .cfg, .pref or .ini files (or anything similar)? Have you tried looking in the registry?

Ok, there's no .cfg, no .pref nor .ini files inside the Transformers 2 folder, so I've tried looking in the registry and I found the settings I tried to change it the resolution but it was unsuccessful, I'll post 2 screenshots of the Transformers 2 registry and Folder

Registry

TF2 Folder

P.D The max resolution of the game is 1280x720 and I can't get the 1440x900 native resolution. By the way the first time I looked in the registry, the Resolution X and Resolution Y was (1440) and (900) that's so weird.

I was going to post this a while ago but hadn't gotten around to it.

The only solution i've found after trying all others is to hex edit the exe.

Using the razor1911 fixed exe, go to offset 008A6860 and change 8007 0000 b004 (8007 b004 is hex for 1920x1200) and put in your native res in hex but leave the middle 0000 alone, in case you didn't already know).

Thanks for answering!

Could it be possible if you can recommend me a good .exe editor?

Thanks in advance

There are numerous hex editors available. I'm rather fond of HxD.

So what does the game look like with a hacked resolution? Does it play fine? Is it stretched? Hor+? Vert-?

I've changed the hex values, but it didn't change anything, the game looks like the same, the resolution never change. It's like the 1400x900 resolution is locked. What can I do now?

At this point I'm out of suggestions. The only possible solution may be a memory edit, which would require the attention of one of our talented coders.

Change your resolution in game to 1920x1200, then it should be the resolution you hexed in the exe.

WidescreenWallaby, is the res change Hor+? Vert-? Any gameplay problems?

I'm hoping triplehead support can be hacked into the game.

I haven't a clue if it's Hor + or ver-. I rarely pay attention to those things as long as all my pixels are being used.

I was hoping you could tell by looking at the screenshots, which is why i put them up.

Are those before/after shots? I can't tell from the pics themselves.

If you're willing to spend a few minutes on this, try loading the game in a 4:3 res (such as 1024x768) and then in a 16:10 res (2560x1600) and get screenshots of both. Try to get the exact same shot for both pics. Often it's easiest to just load a particular savegame and immediately snap a screenshot, assuming the camera angle loads the same every time.

It should be easy to discern the engine's behavior based on such a comparison. I'm hopeful for Hor+. The HUD and general FOV look good in the shots above.

I would do this myself, but I don't own the game and I can't find any demo on the net.

Well the problem is that in game max res is 1280x720 so I decided to look for the offset 008A6810 and change the hex values (1280x720) for those of my monitor native res (1440x900).

Here's a screenshot:

By the way there's a problem with the color washed textures (black is grey), I don't know why but in the screenshot that issue disappears.

Thank you for helping me to fix the issue.
