Another problem is using Xfire while playing FEAR.
You have to either run with Xfire completely off, or at least turn off the In game messaging feature for FEAR.

You're a genius. I just have to start by pointing that out. Just don't reply to my threads anymore.
I already said that I can play the game great if the game is not updated, but the non-updated version of the game does not support wide screen.

not to mention thales100 with a much better system than I, saying he has the same issues. Obviously proving it is not the video card.

So either stop replying in my threads altogether, or stop trying to make a point about the damn 1950(Which I also have) VS the 2600, especially when it has nothing to do with the issue.
LOL, I was responding to your saying your FPS was 60 BEFORE the update, so don't assume I was ignorant of the update causing the drop. I get much better than 60 with my X1950Pro, which I feel is relevant to point out since you've been claiming it's barely better than the 2600.

It in fact is quite a bit better but maybe you don't know it because your system is somehow crippled, not my fault. Nor will I stay away from threads just because someone thinks he owns it merely for having authored it. If someone misrepresents a piece of hardware I own, you can bet I will comment on it in a way that clarifies things.

I have to agree with him... You're really pushing it.

No, pushing it was him jumping into the Dark Athena thread, and instead of contributing to the topic, challenging the validity of what I said about the X1950, then later responding as if he wasn't sure at all about my using the Tom's Hardware charts being an inaccurate source of info. If he doesn't know what he's talking about, he should leave the subject alone, esp if his comments are OT in the first place.

You only see what you want to see don't you Da Fox, try getting all the info before you respond.

Splendid!

I expect3ed that one of those options would be on, and one off. That's usually when the troubles occur.... but i'm glad you got it going. Have fun.

You are not only an amazing asset to this thread and the accomplishment of the task at hand(to fix the frame rate), but a super duper help in general! Thanks!

You are way off topic here. Topic is: F.E.A.R. Frame Rate Issues

(After an update of the game)

Not Fear 1 vs. Fear 2 or HD 2600 XT vs. X1950Pro.

Since the OP have solved his/her issues and bickering gets us nowhere, I am closing this thread.
