Point is, stop making mountains out of a sand grains and live, you'll be much happier to do so.
I'd be happier if I could watch Star Wars with good quality on a widescreen monitor, and talk about it with friends without having any pesky prequel trilogy nonsense getting in the way. I'd be happier if more gamers could play and appreciate classics like the original Alice, without the risk of its memory being tarnished by a crap sequel.
Ignoring all the details that go deeper than "was I entertained?" will not help accomplish this - "making mountains out of sand" does. Want an example? BioShock's vert -. Rather than being satisfied with the gameplay and graphics, we raised a big stink over a technicality. Kotaku trolls berated us, going "oh just enjoy the game," and "don't make mountains out of molehills," but ultimately 2K fixed it.
And the non-anamorphic Star Wars DVDs? If it weren't for widespread complaining about the CGI-infested special editions, we wouldn't even have those.
Arguing about any art form be it movies, games, music, hell even traditional painted art is bloody stupid. People like what they like.
There's really no argument about the quality of American McGee's games. Aside from the first Alice, which he likely didn't have all that much to do with, NOBODY likes his games.
Now I have not even heard of American McGee till this news came out, I will give it a shot (as everyone should) If I dislike it, and others encourage me to try out the original if they claim its much better then I will.
In other words, you're going to actively seek out and try a game you know nothing about other than that it's a sequel and that I said it will be bad? And on top of that, you encourage EVERYONE to seek out this game based on that? That's either really illogical or really insulting, depending on what you were thinking that led you to this conclusion.
