In the TF2 launch options add the following arguments
Code:
-windowed 1 -noborder

Now you get full screen mode with alt tabbing that works (and doesn't take forever!)

This is gonna increase the amount I play TF2 by 500%.

Holy crap, is this like the "maximized window" mode in WoW? My TF2 loads pretty quickly back, but I'll take any additional speed.

Yeah basically. I play in my full native res (1440x900) w/o any problems or window overlays.

It seems to bug out my sniper scope. Perhaps it was the server lag; I'll try again in a little bit.

Thanks for the sharing the -noborder switch, I didn't know that was added. This will streamline my game recording process significantly!

FYI-Tested and works with all Orange Box Engine Games (TF2, Ep2, Portal).

Are you talking about when you rightclick to go into the scope view, you kinda flicker between noscope and scoped a few times then end up in the mode you wanted? If so, that's server recognition lag.

Windowed mode yes, but the -noborder switch seems to be for Orange Box engine games only. HL2 and Ep1 ignored the switch when I tried it and they just ran inside a regular window. Of course, if you reposition the window you can fill your screen with the game and the window border will be hidden past the edge of your monitor.
